End of the Year time

End of the year meme!

1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?

Finished a Festivid, Saw the Grand Canyon, Saw Johnny Weir Live, Saw the Glee cast at a concert, cut my hair short (purposely)and dyed my hair black, Took a lon hiatus from LJ, saw Adam Lambert in concert and live a block from the ocean.

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

My resolutions were more general goals and I made small steps in those although I wouldn't say I accomplished any of them besides vidding a lot more. I will continue to make goals because I love them and striving for them. Mainly I'd like to lose weight, find more RL friends, date people and get a better job/make more money.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

A few people online did that I know.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

No thankfully.

5. What countries did you visit?

Sadly none. Hoping to get to Mexico next year, Tijuana baby!

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?

Romance pleeease. Also money, very important.

7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

May 28th, seeing Glee in concert. Yeah that was the highlight of my year. September 24th when I moved for LA and somehow made it work here.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I would say a combination of getting a LOT more vidding done and successfully moving to LA with a few weeks notice and managing to get a job and good place to live.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Not fully learning After Effects or at least not realizing the goal wasn't working for me as a career goal soon enough. Not finishing this losing weight business. Not staying in LA in February.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Beside a neverending cold, no.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Glee concert ticket! Plane trip to LA and subsequent rent. Darren Criss ticket! New iPod Touch makes me very happy too. A new haircut :D

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

Let's give Obama and congress a hand for ending DADT, that's worthy of celebration.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

Most things related to politics (excepting DADT-not including the peple who voted no). The Glee bashers (more depressed).

14. Where did most of your money go?

Rent and travel mostly.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

GLEE CONCERT (and episodes)! Adam concert too. Vividcon of course!

16. What song will always remind you of 2010?

"Learning to Fly" by Kate Earl

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. Thinner or fatter? Thinner
iii. Richer or poorer? Richer, although the last days before my paycheck, about the same.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Learning, running and dating.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Aimless reading online.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

I spent the morning of chatting with Yuletide people, watched It's a Wonderful Life and worked (free pizza!).

21. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?

At work, fun fun. I get out at 12 so I'll be getting out a five minutes early to watch the ball drop in the break room.

22. Did you fall in love in 2010?

No. Unless falling in love with my new kitten Maestro, Darren Criss/Blaine and Mark/Eduardo counts.

23. How many one-night stands?

None.

24. What was your favourite TV program?

GLEE!

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

Nah.

26. What was the best book you read?

Um...I can't remember. Oops? I'm reading more next year!

I read books! I loved California by Kenneth Star. Brilliant writer who makes history fun and interesting.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Mumford and Sons! OMG I may never get enough of them. The way their music goes up and down is incredible.

28. What did you want and get?

More vids done, a new haircut that I love and an apartment and job in LA that I love (most) of the time.

29. What did you want and not get?

More money, a skill and romance.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?

The Social Network. Black Swan and Inception are pretty close though.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I went to Disneyland for free, ate free food and celebrated getting a job. I turned 23, I feel all grown up now!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Someone to love.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?

Small experiments in fashion. Okay tiny.

34. What kept you sane?

Good friends, fandom, TV and music. This is the theme of my life.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Some combination of Darren Criss/Blaine and Eduardo Saverin/Andrew Garfield.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

Gay suicides/DADT...although honestly at this point I stay out of politics all together so stirring is getting sad/happy at news I read.

37. Who did you miss?

Seeing my friends and cats IRL.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

I met a lot of great people at VVC but I want to give a special shoutout to [profile] chaeche and meeting [profile] messyjessie58 in LA for the first time.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010.

When you try and try and keep hitting a wall while working on a career goal...maybe it's not the right career goal for you so switch gears quickly. Don't go for the backup plan, go for what you really want.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

Two, I can't choose:

Last laugh lands on the man with the plan to do all that he can to do all that he can

"Goodbye" by POS

I’ve made mistakes
But I won’t be ashamed
It feels like fate has lifted me
I can’t seem to keep my feet on the ground

I no longer hide, so I let the sun wash over me
‘Cause there’s no darkness left to hold me down
And I feel it’s light now I’ve found the spark
That was missing in my life

And I earned these wings
I was not born with them and it’s not accident
How I walked through the rain and the fire
‘Cause it taught me how to love it taught me how to play and finally I’m learning to fly.
