I think I'm using procedural wrong (according to Wikipedia ie best thing ever ;)) but I was using it in the sense of one shot episodes where you don't need to see most other episodes to understand the episode. The Wire has so many connections to other episodes and it's a season long storyline so I firmly place it into the mytharc show. Which doesn't relate to a procedural then. I didn't find the wire tapping mundane but very cool (I like *smart* police solving) and the politics made it even better. Usually I think procedurals episodic shows are the ones that appeal to a mainstream audience (CSI, Without a Trace, etc) but from Wiki both HLoTs and The Wire are listed as procedurals so I concede to that.
