I hadn't heard of half of those things you mentioned in that first paragraph. The whole idea about getting everyone to weigh in on the website is a bit odd. But I think it could work if they find a way to make sure everything's fair.

I've heard it was minority voters, not just African-Americans... and that they didn't see it as a civil rights issue. It doesn't matter who it was, the fact that it was passed is insulting enough.
