Music Meme of Procrastination

I love music. I really, really love it. It is so amazing to finally be able to discover all these artists and albums I've heard of or haven't heard of but want to hear. I am trying to fill in all the gaps of my music knowledge and get a music history education finally. One of my goals is to have a big music library and be able to make a good fanmix and be able to pick out music for all the things I want to vid no matter how much it frustrates to vid so slowly. It'll take awhile but this is the right start! At the moment, I'm loving Missy Higgins, Aimee Mann and Michael Franti & Spearhead. Good stuff. Anyways in the name of good music,

I want to have a complete soundtrack with one song from each of my friends. It can be your favorite song in the whole world, a recent favorite or just a song that you think really identifies you. If you can't upload your song, just post the artist and name, and I'll download it myself. I'm then going to make a fanmix with pretty art and post it on my journal to download.

I'd love to hear your songs so please, comment away!

Gah, I reeeeeally can't wait for this week to be over. Two finals today, two on Thursday and then I'm done. And Friday I'm going to NYC to see Rachel Maddow! Well technically I'm going to her girlfriend's art show but I'm 99% sure she's going to be there. I'm also planning on going ice skating at Rockerfellar, going to Manolo's and in a stroke of great luck, going to the Dr. Horrible sing along at the Paley center. That helps make up for not going to a Buffy Sing Along (yet), not that I'm still bitter about it...I'm just so tired of school now but I reeally hate this place and I hate the snow and the cold SO MUCH. Seriously, cold is true evil and my mortal enemy til death. It's like a sickness you can't get rid of you that eats you alive. I'll stop there but hopefully everything will work out and I'll go back to Chapman in late January or at the very least, California *misses*

Hey, you should drop me a word or text if you've got a little free time on Friday. We can meet up for coffee or something.

Play Crack the Sky by Brand New. My all time favorite song :P

This is my favorite song of the last two years. It's upbeat enough that it doesn't make me cry, and the lyrics are so true for me. Regina Spektor- Fidelity (http://rcpt.yousendit.com/634532594/f49d2821be7a0c353a2ac9175e8efac9).

The Start of Something - Voxtrot (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=8549b210a6f9c2d5d2db6fb9a8902bda)

I love any song by Voxtrot, but this is one of my absolute favorites. ♥ It's so catchy, and the lyrics are actually completely brilliant, when you think about them. So much love.

It's kind of depressing but, A Better Son/Daughter (http://www.sendspace.com/file/cmrd1w) by Rilo Kiley is my song. :)

Monkey Majik feat. Yoshida Brothers - Change (http://www.mediafire.com/?yvsqtzhruwd)

The lead singers are Canadian, but they create hybrid Japanese/English songs so I feel a sort of kindred connection to their music. :> This particular song is one of my favorites. It is 99.999% English, too, which I thought you might appreciate. *g*

I'm not really into music history, but I find this (http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/) fascinating. (though it says it's meant more to entertain than to inform)
I will try to list a few songs later this week.

I can't upload my song but I bet you already have it. The song is Unraveling by Deb Talan.
