New Vid! Queer as Folk - Brian/Justin: "Volcano"

It feels like I've been working on this vid forever. Started it in May 2005 with WMM, lost it all when my computer files got erased, remade it only to have it get messed up in Premiere, remade it again and then finally remastered it with DVD footage. And yet I still love it and it's always been the vid that comes out almost exactly how I saw it inside my head.

Title: Volcano
Music: Damien Rice
Source: Queer As Folk US S1-early S2
Warnings: Some graphical m/m sex
Pairing: Brian/Justin
Summary: Volcanoes melt me down

Your QaF vids really suck me in regardless of my unfamiliarity. :D This was so pretty to watch. You pay such wonderful attention to what's going on in the frame movement-wise, and I love what you do with the little flashes and timing changes to spice things up even more.

YAY! Great job! This is very pretty. You vidded the duet seamlessly.

WOW! That was fucking FANTASTIC!!!

Your use of speed and motion -- especially the instrumental beginning and the section of them dancing starting at 1:24 -- was absolutely STUNNING!

The song choice was completely perfect for Brian and Justin.

KICKASS vid! I love it!

*runs to watch again*

Oh, this was well-done, and I enjoyed it. I liked the POV changing with the voices. I especially liked how you intercut the different scenes in Justin's part. Nice.

Gorgeous. Absolutely the best Brian/Justin vid I've seen in years, and trust me, I've watched a lot. Damien Rice and these boys go perfectly together for me, and always have - it's the way that even their moments of softness have this intensity running through them, and the range Damien's voice is capable of. Bravo!

So good! I loved the beginning of this - the sense of pulling in both the music and the camera work. I also liked the point around 1:30 for the same reason. As well, the transition from Brian dipping Justin down in the prom dance to the blood was really striking.
This song is just so perfect for Season 1. It's been a while since then - poor Justin looks so young and dorky :)

I hadn't seen this vid before now. Holy crap! You didn't want to be after me? This is fucking brilliant! God, I am SO in love with the way you used the wonderful source motion against the music. It's just divine. Actually, I'm really glad I didn't see this vid until now, because seeing it before releasing my QAF vid would have killed mine dead. :D

I had to crack a smile in the middle where I remembered someone saying, "why is Justin always the girl?" Poor widdle thing. Anyway, I love, love, loved the POV changes and the way it mushed together in the end. Flawlessly done.

SHIT that was very good!!! I love the song and how well you brought these two medias together!

You give me miles and miles of mountains

The movement is amazing and your use of the source is great. I can't get over how great you are at handling the swishy camera moves from the source. I love the music matching and on beat motions. This song lends itself so well to vidding, I wish every fandom had a Volcano vid, preferrably made by you. The POV switches over smoothly and everything flows like it's liquid. I love the 1:22-1:34 dancing section editing and the hand on face section.

Awwww, this was such a sweet and yet painful vid... I was almost mopping :(
I like how you used intercutting like around 1:50 and meaningful clip choices. Even with raw clips and sex scenes, it still manages to be very meaningful...
I love the ending beginning at 2:38... Brian's vulnerability hidden behing his confidence gets me every time :(
Thanks for making this !

I absolutely loved this video. Superbly done. Great job!

Dear god, I love this video. The way you use, not just the editing of the clips, but the movement of the characters inside the clips to fit the music is so subtle but so effective. Their dancing during the string instrumentals (I'm saying strings, I may be completely off but it sounds like strings) and the clips of Justin's little happy face at the beginning. It's hot and sad and haunting.

Considering this is a man/woman duet it fits perfectly for Brian and Justin. The "miles and miles" of tricks and "it's just what I'm going through, this is nothing new", it's just, oh Brian :(

Plus I'm a complete sucker for Damien Rice. This is amazing, well done.
