The Office got 9 Emmy nominations! YAY!!! I am so happy and proud of everyone who works on the show. It's good to see the show get the recognition it deserves. And I am SO happy with the acting nominations :D Steve, Rainn and Jenna, it's the most perfect I could expect from the Emmys. First of all, RAINN WILSON got the supporting actor nomination!! OMG YAY! I totally screamed in happiness at that news. It is so good to see him recognized because he truly is an amazing actor and this season was Dwight's season to shine. It was great to see the show and Rainn go beyond the caricature and make him so three dimensional from his love of authority to his geekiness to his relationship with Angela (Traveling Salesman FTW) to his principles (The Negotiation FTW) to his sweet moments with Pam (Back From Vacation/The Job FTW!). If there is any beloved character now, it's gotta be Dwight and Rainn did an amazing job of showing why. Plus, he's really, really funny. And I have to say THANK GOD John Krasinki didn't get the nomination over Rainn Wilson as I would have been pissed. I'm sick of all the fangirl focus on him to the exclusion of Rainn (and everyone else) especially when he didn't even do much this season. So I had a nice MUAHAHA moment there even though it would have been nice to see them both nominated.
Also Jenna Fischer got a nomination YAY! I am so happy and so proud of her as she really deserves this award. She did such a great job with Pam's transition into Fancy New Beesley and Beach Games and The Job completely won me over to her character. It's good to see the Emmy's recognize an actress that isn't famous and a character that is more subtle that most. Also I'm so glad Steve got the nomination for Business School! He did an amazing job in that episode especially with the end which was emotionally magnificent and showed why I love Michael. I understand Steve not getting as much fanfare but if he hadn't been on the list, I would have been enraged with the snub so I am thankful I can be relatively happy with the Emmy nominations. I also loved seeing Gay Witch Hunt and The Negotiation get writing awards as I think both are strong, funny episodes that get ignored in the favor of *big* episodes. GWH in particular is a favorite of mine that cracks me up everytime. Also I'm happy for Ken Kwapis and the editing team whose contributions often get overlooked but are important nonetheless. The only thing I'm disappointed about is the cast not getting a casting award and Melora not getting nominated not to mention Angela but it's the Emmy's so whatever. Hopefully The Office will at least win a few of the awards as I don't trust the voters to recognize one of the best shows on earth even if there is some good competition (but not better).
( More Emmy Positives and Negatives )
I may actually make three LJ posts (so sorry for the Randy delay) today for the first time in a long time. But I'll be gone all day tomorrow and Saturday for work and HARRY POTTER (!!!) so there you go. And I'm watching Torchwood and there was actually two great plots in a row! I get quickly bored with alien cop procedural format, Captain Jack Hotness or not, so seeing two good episodes was wonderful (the Greeks one and Suzie who I actually liked in the pilot). I still am not sure if I'll be able to finish Farcape before VIVIDCON (so excited!) but I'm glad to hear about the new stuff coming to that and BSG. Have I mentioned the 7th Harry Potter book is coming out tomorrow and I haven't been spoiled yet? CANNOT WAIT! |
