anoel | The Office obsession

I don't know if I've ever been this obsessed with a television show before. It's so crazy but I can't help it. Somehow this show gets to me from my intense LOVE of all the characters to it making me laugh all the time to all its brillance to the amazing way they use the camera to plots that are so perfect to the awesome cast who are great with fans. I'm being bad with catching up with other shows but it's hard when my mind is on The Office all the time. I need a new episode like NOW. I've seen all the episode previews for the next episode (which are way too funny) and I still can't get enough. Not to mention I'm dying to see the February 22nd episode. So here is my obsessed list for The Office...

You know you're obsessed with The Office when...

You've seen all the episodes twice, watch at least one each day and are planning to watch the entire show again many more times.
No matter how many times you've seen them, the episodes still never fail to crack you up.
You friend most of The Office LJ communities including fic and icons even though you (almost) never do that for any other TV show.
Everytime you see a new office post on your Flist, it makes you excited and happy.
You check Office Tally and the NBC website to see if any news comes up.
You try to pimp the show to everyone you know from people you work with to friends to random people you meet on the street.
You succeed in getting people to watch The Office.
You buy The Office DVDs even though you try not to buy many TV shows.
You neglect watching your other shows because you're too much into The Office to care.
If you spend too long away from The Office, you go into a withdrawal and seeing an episode again makes you feel happy and delighted once again.
You feel like saying OMG I love Michael, OMG I love Dwight, OMG I love everyone, OMG I love my show!!! etc all the time.
You watch The Office episodes and videos on your iPod whenever you can.
You're planning to buy (or bought) the Dwight bobblehead, the upcoming Michael bobblehead and "World's Best Boss" mug.
You love to think about The Office as much as you can especially on Thursday.
You're usually a spoilerphobe but for The Office can't resist any spoiler you see because you're so desperate for more.
Seeing a new person on your Flist watching The Office makes you incredibly happy.
You read all about the cast and watch their other roles in movies and shows.
You want to go to Chili's just because Michael loves it and the characters all went there.
Thursday is the best day ever because there's a new episode of The Office on.
You would do anything to meet the cast because the very thought makes you insanely happy.
You believe The Office is the best comedy and best show on TV and so you feel validated and proud when it gets recognized as such by winning all the awards (Emmys, Golden Globes, SAG, WGA, etc).
You can't help smiling whenever you watch The Office because it feels like home.

You know you're obsessed with Michael/Jan when...

You watch some Michael/Jan scenes every night because you need your daily fix.
You've read every Michael/Jan fic you can find.
You hope and pray every week to see Jan appear and watch to see if Melora's name appears in the credits.
You mentally vid every song you hear into a Michael/Jan song no matter how bad.
You rewatch the Michael/Jan scenes from The Client, Performance Review, Boys and Girls, Valentine's Day, Casino Night and Back From Vacation too many times to count. Especially the kisses.
You gasp with excitement everytime you see a new Michael/Jan news item or new fic and hurry off to read it.
You imagine different scenarios and fantasies of Michael/Jan together.
You have Michael/Jan fic on your iPod to read whenever you feel like it.
You spend hours working on a Michael/Jan video.
Your desktop background is a Michael/Jan picture or wallpaper.
You think an episode is better by just having a Michael/Jan scene, phone call or mention.
You ponder Michael and Jan's personalities and their relationship because you think it's so interesting.
You wonder why Jim/Pam fans are complaining because Michael/Jan just had such a great scene/conversation and that overshadows everything else.
You've memorized almost all of the Michael/Jan scenes together (especially the Back From Vacation scene).
You get ridiculously romantic whenever you think of Michael and Jan together.

All of these apply to me.

All of the M/J ones are so true. I have completely started to judge episodes based on the amount of Jan in them. If she's not in the credits, I hold a grudge against the episode before I even see it. Hahaha. I need help. :p

As for Jim/Pam fans, I'm starting to get annoyed with that fanbase a little (not to mention Jim and Pam themselves, ugh). They're aaaalways whining about something. We get excited about even a phone call. Pfft.

I try to be objective but I love an episode so much better when Michael and Jan have scenes together. I have a feeling Cocktails will be the best episode ever ;)

Yeah, I try to avoid them so as not to get annoyed when I find Jim/Pam cute. I totally agree that they need to stop whining though, just be happy for what you have. I just focus on M/J and look forward to more scenes from them.

Cocktails is absolutely going to be the BEST EVER. I'm spending way too much time thinking about it.

Same here! I keep imagining how many scenes together and what will happen and the kiss(es)...Not to mention how crazy and insane I'm going to be once I've seen it. I just can't wait!

I know there's a rerun the week after, and probably a couple more in March, so I'm soooo glad we'll get a good M/J ep before the long drought. Otherwise I would literally go insane.

Ahhhh, we're going to get a multiple kisses episode!!! My head is going to explode.

I know! I saw that there was a rerun and I knew the only way I'd be reason I'd be able to deal with it was because lots of M/J would overload my brain so I could go enjoy that many, many times. Without that, I'd join you in the insanity (and not the good kind).

Well we don't *know* there'll be multiple kisses but I really, really hope that's what we'll get. Multiple scenes is enough for me at this point but I can't imagine what kind of scenes we could get. It's all just so squeeworthy.

Any sort of look/touch/kiss we get is going to be amazing. I'm just dying to see them in a room together.

I cannot agree more. I need scenes to rewatch over and over again, slow moing every look, every placement of their hands, EVERYTHING. If I'm going to last through the reruns, I need stuff to hold me over.

God, word. Most whiniest fanbrats ever. :||||| I hardly look at the office weekly discussion on theoffice_us comm because I know a hell of a lot of comments will either be bashing Karen, bashing Roy, or bitching they're not making out against the wall yet.

The Karen thing particularly irks the hell out of me. :|

Yeah the random bashing makes me sad. I just skim all of it and mostly ignore it.

LOL I can easily say that I am obsessed like A LOT. I don't count the times that I watch an episode each week.

Trying to be strong so I'm not gonna go on yahoo to watch the spoilers for this week's ep (just check me out on thursday's afternoon, I know I'm gonna be weak... again lol) !

And seriously I am super excited about the Cocktails ep. Because as much as I love Jam (well a little less these days) and well Dwangela, Jim/Dwight, Kevin, Creed, Ryan..., I can't deny that I adore M/J !

Yeah, my goal is to watch them so many times that I have the entire show memorized. I admire your strongness, I have no willpower to stop myself anymore. I am metaphorically on the floor begging the writers for more M/J stuff and for Cocktails to come faster. That's how desperate I am!

Also, I have all the eps on my iPod, and watch eps between classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays because I have an hour and a half wait. >> I STILL LAUGH. EVERY TIME. THE THINGS DON'T GET OLD.

Yep, I'd definitely count that :) I am in the process of putting all the eps on my iPod now. They really don't get old even if I anticipate the quote. Sometimes it makes it even funnier if that's possible.

OK... you beat me. I can't watch everyday, But I listen to the eps while I work, and yes they crack me up, and I can still visualise what is happening.

I can add one obsessive trait to your list:
You blew your entire months d/load quota in the weekend you discovered The Office (and then you still bought the DVD's)

However, though I like Michael/Jan... I think the wallpaper is a bit much ;)

Oh yeah, I love to listen to them too. I blew through sendspace's quota so that wasn't fun at all (but so worth the waiting). The wallpaper is not much when you want to see a wonderful spoilery pic over and over again...hehe ;)

OMG YES. I've got a lot of these. Screw JAM, MAN IS MY OTP!!!

Hell YEAh! They are so much more worthy to be obsessive about IMO.
