Have I mentioned that The Office has the BEST CAST EVER recently? Cause it totally does. And I met them!! I went to The Paley Festival tonight and had one of the best experiences ever. First things first, I MET MELORA AND STEVE!!! Yes, Steve was there to my complete shock and delight. I got an autograph and a picture with each of them and told them how much I loved Michael and Jan not to mention their acting. And I also got a picture and autograph from Rainn (LOVE) and a picture with Angela and an autograph from Jenna and pictures of a bunch of other cast members. And I talked with Greg Daniels! Who is very cool.
Biggest news on the Michael/Jan front? We saw about 10-15 minutes of the next (? wasnt clear on that) episode and Jan is there!! With Michael and OMG it is hilarious. I may just love this ship times infinity. Michael is just so awesome in this episode, there are no words. And there was a blooper reel that made me LMAO and they showed Cocktails which made me happy. And Steve kissed Oscar! For real this time. Oh Steve, how I love you. I have notes on everything but the blooper reel so I'll share that tomorrow. I just can't believe I met them!! Totally worth all the money. Oh and they all look just as gorgeous in person. What an amazing, wonderful, squeeful night *happy sigh*
ETA: Okay I have no strength to resist Michael/Jan so I typed up some of their stuff in the part of the episode that was shown. Beware, LOTS of spoilers under the cut including quotes, plot details and jokes:
So to get a raise, Darryl tells Michael to call his girl at corporate ie Jan or something like that. He tells Michael that he needs to show who wears the pants in the relationship. So then Michael talks to Jan on the phone and she tells him to come see her in person at 5. She needs a third party so although Michael suggests Darryl (Jan: "the warehouse guy??) Jan says an HR rep ie Toby. Michael goes all dramatic "I'm going to kill myself! "worst human being", etc but agrees. So yeah we finally see DM NY with Jan's new "boy toy" assistant that Michael gets jealous of although at this point I was just SO happy to see Jan. So they're in there meeting and "lovers" was mentioned at one point, I'm forgetting context there. Michael says something about how this is personal about their close relationship or history or something and of course Jan is annoyed because this is supposed to be all business. So Michael says something about giving Jan jade earrings and then telling her she gives him the raise or "no more sex". SO FUNNY. Jan asks Toby to leave and he says something about withholding sex and lawsuits in a TH (Toby is awesome in this episode). Back to Jan and Michael, Michael says something about his heart (I wish I had better notes but I was trying to watch too!).
Then Jan says "What is wrong with you?" which is hilarious in itself but she says it in a pretty nice way. So that's where Michael spills his story as said about his horrible day (details in later post). I definitely think that's one of the most important parts of their scenes together, that Michael can be honest with her and shed his cool guy image and that's when Jan tells him she can give him a 12% raise but he needs to ask for 15%. And Michael's all like, what? why? But says it and Jan agrees to give him 12% but he then says "but you just said 15%". Too funny. So then Michael is talking in a TH type scene and he's like, its all about the perks like sex with Jan and then the camera moves to reveal she's next to him and she drags him away. Its soo awesome. I can't wait to see it again!
