Rock your body til Canada Day

So on Saturday I finally watched Hard Core Logo and Wilby Wonderful which have been on the top of my list for awhile now. And wow, CKR=HOT.

Where to begin? First of all, I loved it. It didn't just showcase how hot CKR is (although it did a damn fine job) or how slashy Joe and Billy are (OFF THE SCALE) but it was really, really good and interesting. I've watched it again (albeit doing other stuff on the side) and it's addicting to keep watching with so many little things to see. I love the documentary format (see The Office and Friday Night Lights) so that format was really cool. The end was shocking! I had no idea as I was thankfully unspoiled minus a few favorite vid shots I had seen. Joe :( Man, that sucks.

CKR was so fucking hot in this movie. Just GUHHHHH. I love seeing Billy rocking on a guitar, his arms, THE KNIFE LICK OMFG, dancing in front of the camera, walking with the gang in that slow mo shot (omg so hot=favorite shot of the movie), the t-shirt yumminess and the intensity he shows in his talking heads or alone scenes. And I just loved how hot he was hanging all around Billy (and vice versa) with the kiss on the cheek (!!), singing on the same microphone, Joe pulling him away from those fans ("He's mine, I'm going to take him now" *squee*), leaning over his shoulder and Billy touching Joe on the chest. Even the fight was all about betrayal and the tragedy of them being kept apart and then the death because of it :( I love them with all their shared history and partners and closeness and Great Epic Love. My favorite line was Joe saying, "#1 and #2 which is basically the same thing...but number 2, they kind of coexist" which is just so incredibly slashy and I love the equality in it what the best ships have IMO. And I loved the sunset scene, so beautifully shot. And "Who Do You Think You Are" is a surprisingly addicting song.

ETA: Also? Billy loves Joe MORE THAN ANYONE. That's true love right there.

I also loved John who I could never tell apart from Pipe at first but I love his talking heads and the interesting stuff he said. It was heartbreaking when Pipe made fun of his writing and he burned it :( I absolutely loved the end where he repeats "And in the end, it was love" which is so true not just for Joe and Billy but for the band. I loved the whole, we were family theme they had going.

Awesome, awesome movie.

So I finally got to watch all the vids I know of (any recs?) and [livejournal.com profile] katallison fic which was amazing as usual. I definitely recommend the movie if you haven't seen it!

Ah the movie with all my favorite Canadian actors. Paul Gross, CKR, Sandra Oh and Ellen Page, niiice. And I really loved the movie. I somehow missed that there was a gay plot and that CKR was in it which basically made my life. Except for hoping there'd be a kiss twice (see cut tag quote). But I looooved the face touching which was so cute. When Dan was about to hang himself and touched his face, it was just the cuteness moment. And Duck was just adorable the whole time, saving Ellen's character (hug!) and bringing Dan flowers and then the hand holding *happy sigh*

I love how the plot intertwined with all the characters. And Paul Gross OMG so hot once again. Cop!Fraser was wonderful :) And I was SO HAPPY that PG and CKR got a scene together :D That was my own hope of the movie and I was starting to lose hope and then there was a car scene eeeee. They're also together in my own head hehe. Sandra Oh was great as well, it was so sad and yet funny how she hid the body to keep her image. And I'm so glad Ellen's character realized her boyfriend was an ass because it was so freaking obvious even if he was cute. I loved that last scene with her mother, very cute.

So I need some recs for your favorite fun, entertaining movies. Especially movies that are fannish, classic, famous, gay storyline/boykissing or have been used in vids I know of. I was thinking of watching one the other day but realized I didn't have any on my (mental) list.

OMG HOUSE!
