Journey's End

Some late night thoughts on Doctor Who:

Well, that's it. Wow. It was definitely a roller coaster of emotions only this time it ends with sadness and acceptance. My favorite part by far? HUGGING! OMG the hugging was the best part. Just a hugging free for all and just to see the huge family in the Tardis...amazing. I had this huge grin on my face the entire time. As always, one of my favorite things about this show is the sense of fun even in the face of evil which is why I love the Daleks so much. Of course they're not scary! They're hilarious and adorable and it's fun to go up against them. I did really love the point Davros made and how they showed all the sacrifices made for the Doctor.

Let's see. I loooooved Jack and Martha. I love Jack thinking of an orgy with the Doctors. I love Donna wanting to hug Jack and totally being into him omgIlovehersomuch. My favorite shippery moment in the whole episode was actually Jack and Martha holding hands cause eeeee love. And I am SO happy to see Martha and Mickey joining Torchwood if that does indeed happen. YAY! Three of my favorites plus Ianto who I love and Rhys who is the cuteness works for me. I love Jack's wink as well. Missed Ianto a lot too, wish he would have met the Doctor in real life.

Now Rose...wow. You know, I think RTD found the only way Doctor/Rose would ever work for me. I still wish Rose wasn't so focused on him, more on who she was and being awesome by herself and all that...but whatever. The important thing is, I don't mind part human!Doctor with Rose and if the shippers want that, I could care less. The beauty in it for me is that it shows what a true deep relationship can be, it can be romantic in one sense and it can be platonic in the other sense and both can be true. I like that. Kudos, RTD.

Donna :( God it sucks. I LOVED her as half Time lord, she was so awesome. I love her saving the world and being brilliant. I loved the Doctor copying her mannerisms and understanding her. It really is amazing how much I have grown to love her when in The Runaway Bride I really didn't like her. All through the episode all I wanted was her not to die and the funny thing is you see maybe it'd be the better option. It didn't break me as much as Doomsday or even Last of the Time Lords but it's just so depressing seeing her without those memories. I still have hope though, hope that she'll realize her awesomeness, find the great parts of life and realize her true potential. Who knows, there's always a loophole somewhere...

Overall, I really liked it. The only thing it was missing was boykissing and John Simm but I enjoyed it greatly which is the most important here. I loved all the continuity, there's no way I can remember all of it but it was great and made it feel so much like a cohesive whole rather than the dreaded stand alones. And I really, really liked how in the end Donna turned the other way, had to follow a different path going back to part one of the three parter. Beautiful. Anyways, the episode was fun and great TV and that's all I can really ask for (Donna come baaaaack).

I watched the House S5 promo trailer...going to stay away from spoilers from now on. I really want to get the full emotional effect of everything when it comes. Is it fall yet?

*totally agrees with everything you've said here*

Oh, and another favorite moment of mine was when Martha threatened to blow up Earth, and Rose was like, "She's good." XD LOL I was really glad to see Rose going back to being Rose as opposed to the Blonde Terminator or whatever she's been for the past couple episodes. This episode was filled with her being adorable and helpful and maybe a little too in love with the Doctor, but I can't really blame her there. ♥

If Martha and Mickey join Torchwood, I will SHOUT FOR JOY. I think that would be so awesome. ♥ Like, oh so awesome. (Also, Mickey and Rose's mom hugging? So sweet.)

And Donna. Oh, Donna. But the thing is -- I also have hope that she'll realize, or her family will help her realize, that she is made of awesome and amazing without having to tell her about the Doctor. I just think that her fabulousness cannot be contained, and eventually it will have to leak out and win over all, because that's just how she rolls. ♥

I LOVED that! It was so good to have them think each other as awesome. And I loved how amazed Martha was to meet her. Very nice to see. And yes, Rose got her cuteness back which was wonderful even if it's just friendly cuteness to me. They BETTER join Torchwood, cause that'd be perfect. Mickey and Jackie hugging was awesome!

Exactly! She has to discover it. There's no way for all this to happen and for her not to change and grow. She doesn't need the Doctor, she never did. She'll still travel the globe, the universe someday, I believe.

I agree with everything you said! You are so positive about everything! It makes me happy.

Good tip about House... *avoids trailers like plague*

DW is my happy show, I can't help but look at the bright side. Plus, HUGGING!

Yeah definitely. It's not a big deal but I'd rather be surprised while watching the show.

Just watched it. ^_^

I loved the hugging fest, too, and how happy and cocky they all were when going out to meet the Daleks, like it was all a wonderful game, and for them it was because they were all together and that's what mattered. ^_^
