New Vid: Forever Yours

So I made this vid for me. I wanted to share it with everyone but I definitely vidded my id here. I first thought of this three years ago after S5 when I was in love with House/Wilson and kept hearing songs on the radio that reminded me of them that House would totally make fun of. And yet he would actually sincerely believe them to be true. Or perhaps that's the 12 year old hardcore shipper in me talking. In any case, each song represented a special part of their relationship for me but didn't interest me enough to make an entire vid so I decided to shorten them all and put together a concept to bring them all together. Of course clipping the vid (with 5 seasons) took a long time and I eventually didn't finish in time for Premieres.

Flash forward to last May when I had stopped watching House halfway through S6 and decided to watch the series finale just to see what House/Wilson we'd get...and yeah, after that I had to finish this vid for Premieres this year because if I didn't I'd never get this vid done and I've always regretted not finishing it. Now I'm glad I didn't (because of the extra perfect clips I got) even if it took me FOREVER to clip 8 seasons and I felt completely rushed getting it done. Plus I had some massive tech trouble in the middle of it which is never fun. It didn't turn out quite as funny as I saw in my head but in the end I just believe in them too sincerely to go too far into funny (at least at the moment). So this is my Lord King Bad Vid turned pouring my heart and soul out into an epic vid about my favorite slash pairing of all time.

So in my mind, this is how the vid works. Because House totally makes LKBV's for himself and Wilson (see opening clip), House "vids" a series of LKBVs of House/Wilson and adds some cheesy effects for good measure. But being House, the feelings are all serious and sincere no matter how much he tries to hide them (this may have been more of me than House). So House shows Wilson this vid of them together (see them on the couching watching the opening title clip). The first song for me is all about House falling in love with Wilson which he realizes when he sees Wilson with Amber (noooo). I wanted to show the very first clip of them meeting together and show how even though time has changed them, they both do the very same things they used to do, past, present (and later future). Also OMG THE CANCER PLOTLINE GAVE ME AMAZING FOOTAGE OMG THEYRE SOOOOOOOOOO IN LOOOVE!!! House cradled Wilson's head!! I'm still in disbelief, I mean god, how are they not officially canon on the show (they are). I loved how they both can't quite talk about their feelings or touch (the car scene OMG) but House DID SAY HE LOVED HIM which was one of the best moments of my fannish life so I had to have that in and make it clear.

But then Amber comes in and she's a big part of the story because I started thinking about this vid back when her storyline was a big part of the vid so she cause House to start realizing all his FEELINGS. And then god that scene where Wilson's like, "We're still friends" and House says, "It's not the same..." ITS NOT THE SAME ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Oh my god, so many feels. Sometimes I just can't interpret it any other way but romantic (sometimes?). So then it goes into House and Wilson being broken up especially in S5 where there's a big distance between them and House keeps trying to go to Wilson. There was just so many parallels and so many moments I had to leave out in order to get the big ones in there. The I'm sorry!!! one was what made me have to include this in the vid as House has some serious issues there. But he freaking SACRIFICES HIS LIFE for Wilson, for forgiveness, I mean god. And then the door opening...gahh I will never get over that scene, the desperation, the slightly dubcon-ness of it all...

That leads into House looking of all the happy times between him and Wilson which is why he can't let Wilson go. Lunch stealing!! Never gets old and I had soo many clips and it just makes me so very happy to see that between them. I wanted to use the cane grabbing scene but I didn't have the footage sadly but I think most House/Wilson shippers can imagine it in. The eye clips back and forth were one of the first clips I set down at the timeline when I first made the vid back in 2009 and I LOVE that scene so that was fun. I'm still in shock I found that perfect clip of House being "god" which I almost skipped over while looking for House/Wilson scenes. And then the pranks!!! So many, so beautiful, so hilarious. I mean, chickens!! I'll never get over that. It's one of those things that makes them so perfect together. And then they almost kissed!!! Kind of but I was still dyyyying when I first saw that clip after having to deal with all the House/Cuddy grossness (uh yeah, not my thing). But those are just happy memories and House is still all alone without his Wilson :( With the EMO TEAR! That's the thing that will never stop cracking me up. This is where House realizes he's nothing without Wilson, he can't stop thinking about him and he'll do anything to get him back.

And then you have my favorite scene of the entire series, the Piano scene. I'm pretty shocked Doris didn't write that because WOW. Wilson's face!! The nervousness, the love, the affection, the fact that Wilson knows House to give him the best gift of all, that House does define him and he's okay with that, more than okay, he LOVES HIM. God he looks like he's about to cry (or maybe that's just me omg that scene). And then the carrying parallels!! And I've had the throwing the alcohol scene in my head since I heard that song. Because that's when Wilson is so frustrated with House trying to win him back and says, you're an idiot, I LOVE YOU. So he makes him an actual sincere vid that professes his love (not necessarily literally, it more metaphoric), gives himself to House and I don't know, they get married and LIVE TOGETHER YES THAT HAPPENED. I'm still in shock at that. Wilson just tries to show him he can be happy and in love and doesn't have to mess with him all the time (little homage to Bukowski there seeing as I've watched that vid oh maybe a hundred times), they can just be boyfriends. And then House sacrifices everything to be with Wilson and Wilson sees that he really does love him enough to give him everything. And then we get that famous finale scene where they drive off into the sunset together...yeah I'm never getting over that. Because WE won and they ended up happily like I've been wanting them to do since I first fell in love with them. HAPPILY EVER AFTER. And I wanted to dedicate this to Doris Egan because it is so, so nice having a writer you trust to give us our epic slash while not doing it in a making fun of way (although there is humor) but in the deep, emotional, complicated but totally in love way that House and Wilson are.

Too long? For me it was not even close to being long enough and I had TONS of extra clips I was dying to use. I wanted to make it symmetrical where there's newer and more sincere music in the beginning and end, a ridiculous pop song in the middle and older LKBV style music to show their PAIN in between. I love going into emotional extremes so I love the difference there. For me, they are old and new, then and now but always together no matter what. I originally called the vid, The House/Wilson Show because I wanted to show the way I watch the show where it's all about House and Wilson and their epic love story. It's a vid I could watch over and over to remind myself why I fell in love with them.

So yes, for me, this vid is completely and totally: HOUSE/WILSON 4EVA!!1!
