New Vid! Highlander - Duncan/Methos: The Trouble With Poets

Here's my Premieres vid that showed at Vividcon 2007:

Title: The Trouble With Poets
Music: Peter Mulvey
Source: Highlander
Pairing: Duncan/Methos
Summary: The trouble with poets is they talk too much.
Link: The Trouble With Poets (25 MB Divx avi)
Streaming link on Youtube

Notes: Huge thanks goes out to [livejournal.com profile] elynross who helped me so much with her last minute beta. All feedback from one word to constructive criticism is very much appreciated.

My Nearly New vid, Volcano (Queer as Folk) was not supposed to have black spots at the end so if you want to see the entire thing, you can see it here.

I'm terrible with any sort of meaty feedback for much of anything, but I really loved The Trouble with Poets. It reminds me of how much I loved Highlander, and of what a dork I was back then to not recognize the Great Epic Romance between Duncan and Methos...

Thank you! I'm really glad that it helped bring back the Highlander love. And don't feel bad, I didn't at first recognize the epic slash of Clark/Lex so I understand.

Wow! What a *great* D/M vid! You had a lot of clips that don't normally make their way into D/M vids, great editing (I loved your judicious use of transitions and effects, and the sequences with rapid cuts were really effective with the music!), and a good song choice. A real treat to watch! :)

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm glad the transitions and effects worked for you so well and I'm always to hear people like like the song.

Just watched on my laptop and loved it; can't wait to see it larger. Especially loved the way you used the [originally goofy] double q spiral.

Thanks!

Fantastic! I love how you grouped shots together, it's really well done. :D

Very nice vid! :)

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked the spiral so much as it's one of my favorite things about the vid.

Thanks! It's really good to hear that especially coming from you :)

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked it, I was hoping you would :) And always yay for song love!

Wonderful vid! I loved the way you brought key clips together in very telling ways, i.e. overlaying Kronos flashes in the dojo scene from CaH. Also, as Unovis said, using the goofy spiral to much greater effect than it was in Rev 6:8. Very nicely done! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks :)

Thank you for the feedback! It's good to hear you liked the dojo overlaying images not to mention the spirals.

Wonderful vid! I'm afraid I'm not very good with vid feedback (all I know is it all looks very difficult and time consuming, and you must have a bucketload of patience *admires*), but I love the choice of clips you've used here, and the comparisons and contrasts you've drawn with them (e.g. Duncan and Methos at the end of 'Revelation 6.8' and the flashes of their own dark moments as they walk away). Your timing seems great, and although I've never heard the song before, but you've made it fit very nicely (I admit I smirked a bit at 'the trouble with shrews' part *g*).
Thank you for taking the time to make and share this. It's always good to see that HL fandom is still immortal alive and kicking! : )

Awesome vid! Excellent choice of music and scenes. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much! This is good vid feedback, thank you for pointing out some specific things you like about it. I'm so glad the flashes of their dark moments worked for you. And yay for liking the song although it's actually "the trouble with shoes" but that works quite nicely hehe. And yeah, immortals and their slash will never die :)

BTW, love your icon!

So, so sorry about that. Apparently Dreamhost is having network outage problems but I added a Sendspace download if you still want to download it. Thanks for your interest!

Oh, I liked this!

I like how you grouped together shots of them laying down, and tossing things to each other. Also, I liked the way you interspersed the flashbacks. I know there's lots of subtleties that I missed, but I noticed and appreciated those things on my first viewing.
