I leave for a day (Disneyland=FUN) and of course something big happens. I just found out that [livejournal.com profile] thamiris died. We didn't know each other that well but she would always write the most beautiful writing that I had ever read and I always looked forward to reading a post from her. I loved her intelligent SV meta and the way she could make anything sexy and have that come across in words so well. And when I did leave a comment she was always so nice to me. I've never had anyone on my Flist die before and it's just horrible that it happened. I'm amazed by her writing talent, I still consider her the most beautiful writer ever. As an example:

I do love the slippery flow of poetry, the sighing puffed breath from the rounded belly of an a, the clanging of c's thrown horseshoe, the broken gasp of t's dying cross. Words never cease to stun me, even the simple sounds of each individual letter. Truly, humanity's greatest feat has been the invention of the alphabet, with its lullaby cadence and divine powers. -Thamiris

Seriously I don't know what to say it's just really sad.

She must have been an awesome person. She had a great writing skill.

May she rest in peace, she deserve it !

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Several years ago, an online friend of mine from a music newsgroup I post to passed away very suddenly. I'd never met him in person but the loss was still real. I remember going into work the day I heard the news and telling a few people what had happened. Everyone was nice about it but when I explained that this was a friend I knew only from reading posts on a message board, I could see that some of them just did not get it. Their mouths were saying "sorry to hear that" but they just had these blank, puzzled expressions on their faces so you knew they were wondering why I was upset - "it's not like she KNEW this guy!" But of course I did.

I also told a friend of mine who did get it and we were talking about how you can get close to people you've never met. She had a good point and I've always remembered what she said. She said that when you communicate with someone through reading and writing rather than talking, you pay more attention to what they're saying, and not getting distracted and missing things or just waiting for your turn to talk and not really listening. So you can get to know someone really well that way.

Anyway... I'm sorry for your loss **hugs**

Yeah I totally know what you're saying. Online connection can be real for that reason, so much can be communicated through words and she epitomized that. Even though I didn't know her that well, I still feel bad that she's gone :( It sucks. Thanks for your words.

Damn.

I heard about her, but no one ever posted an example of her fantastic writing before. That's a great loss to the world.

It really is. Her writing continues to blow me away.
