My username is ______ because ______.
anoel. When I was in 9th grade I was looking for a special internet username for myself and since I loved lions and felt I was one in a way, I wanted one to represent that. So I played around with the Spanish word for lion, leona and when I spelled it backwards it came out to anoel which I liked. Plus it was an A name and I like those for myself.
If I add 43 to it, that's because it's my favorite number. I got it when I was 9ish and I was in love with a book in the Sweet Valley Twins series, Elizabeth's First Kiss because it was really romantic and I had a crush on the guy in the book/on the cover. It was series number 43 and so that became my favorite number and it's never changed ever since. Mostly I just like that it's unique to myself.

Defying Gravity because I've always wanted to fly and gravity is what holds me down. I love how metaphorically gravity is the concrete world while I want to be in a world of possibilities, of imagination, of things which are not describable not to mention the amazing feeling of flying. I thought of it because I loved the name of a group, Mad at Gravity but thought Defying sounded better. I later found out it was the name of a Wicked song.

Ridiculously Romantic because I AM ridiculously romantic. Plus it's my favorite saying from my favorite scene of my favorite ship and the one I would most like to have someday in a similar sense. Plus ridiculous is my favorite word and I'm a complete romantic.

because I'm in a Doctor Who mood and am loving the Doctor, Donna and Martha at the moment. So much better with all three of them! My lioness one (
) is because my favorite childhood movie was The Lion King and was my first real fannish experience and I love the picture of Nala looking up curiously in the water. The heart is just because I love romance and love so much.
My first time watching Doctor Who live! Just need to avoid the crazy shippers and I'm good.
YAY!!! That was awesome :D That was such a wonderful joyful episode that put me in such a good mood. I was nervous about this series because I wasn't much into Donna in the Christmas special she was in (that may have been because I was dying to see Martha though) but now I am totally on board the Donna is awesome boat (no, Tardis!). She and the Doctor are hilarious! And awwwwww he mentioned Martha *squee* That is such a nice refreshing change from last series. I don't generally like the plots on Doctor Who just because episodic one shot aliens don't really interest me but at least this time they were CUTE baby aliens! So adorable. And it was so much fun seeing the Doctor and Donna reconnecting. The scene where they mouth words was HILARIOUS. So classic. I fell for them just like that. Also, HUGS. Those will never be bad. No fake!kissing, yay! And David Tennant is oh so cute and yummy as always.
Martha, she was called. Martha Jones. She was brilliant. And I destroyed her whole life. But she's fine, she's good. She's gone.
*loves* She is awesome! Hahaha at destroying her whole life. Oh, Doctor. Oh, Martha. You will forever be the awesomest of them all.
But Donna pulling out the other capsule was awesome! So many great moments in this episode.

Donna: Mad Martha, that one. Blind Martha. Charity Martha."
MUAHAHAHAHA. I love you, Donna. Take that Doctor! The complicated mention was interesting though. We'll take the mate as needing a friend (which should be The Master! *cries*) But I love how Donna handled it and I look forward to much fun between the two. I adored how Donna got them to fly so her father could see her. That was adorable. All in all, that episode was SO MUCH FUN and I'm looking forward to next episode!
Yay to platonic companions! I don't really ship on this show besides Doctor/Master and some fun Doctor/Martha/Jack(/Master) but I'm so glad most everything can be platonic or subtextual and that's the way I want it to stay.
I don't have a lot to say besides that was sad. I don't think I'm as attached to this show as I was previously mostly because it hasn't done much in the way of emotionally gripping plots or making me love the characters although I still love Jack and Ianto (and Martha!). Too much Owen focus in the last episodes has made me happy that Owen's dead but Tosh's death really sucked as far as I'm concerned. She was so underused and they never really gave her a chance. Her video was particularly affecting. I did love John/James Marster's return which provided some much needed fun and gay love (they're so cute). I did love the Jack and Ianto naked scene in Adrift but it was waaay too short (more kissing please!). Adrift did make me like Gwen a lot more and her and Rhys continue to be cuter than cute. I'm just hoping next season Martha will join the Torchwood team. If you want to do threesomes, I am ALL for Jack/Ianto/Martha.
Yay Starbuck's back! This makes BSG so much more fun for me. I absolutely love how Lee gave her a big hug and believed her :) I'm really enjoying the juxtaposition for the secret Cylons trying to figure out what they're programmed to do or what their mission is versus Kara not knowing if she's a Cylon or not and whether they did anything to her. I loved Tigh imagining shooting Adama because it sums up his worst fear in a nutshell. Also thank god Baltar shaved and for once actually was willing to sacrifice himself. Don't have much to say about it other than I'm glad it's back!
Man, this show is awesome. I'm not really into the movies mostly because the action kind of bored me but the series takes the things I love from the movies with the philosophical questions on what it is to be human and the difference between them and machines not to mention things like fate and changing the future along with the awesomeness of Sarah Connor from T2 and the good!terminator trying to learn to be human. Sarah and Cameron are definitely my favorites because I'm so interested in them and they kick ass. I don't think that the show is very good at character love at least for me as I find all of them hard to deeply relate to and not super fleshed out but I'm willing to forgive it because the plot is so intriguing and great to watch. My two favorite episodes so far are Queen's Gambit and The Devil's Hand and my favorite visual moments are Sarah's dream with the Terminators, Sarah doing push ups (GUH), Sarah reaching out to Elison in the fire and the rain falling on the psychiatric guy, Cameron's beautiful dancing (that made me cry with the beauty of it)and the pool scene in the finale (WOW). I'm not so sold on John especially with him supposed to be the "savior" of mankind but I'm not seeing the leadership qualities although maybe the emo teen stuff is blocking it out. I reeeally wish he would cut his hair because I know he was cute as Zach on Heroes and like Peter on that show, some guys look much better with short hair.
I HATED the stupid romance plot on T1 and much in the same vein, Derek continues to bore me and I really hope they don't do a romance plot with him and Sarah. My hopes are low though. I did like when Reese showed John his father for his birthday, that was sweet. What frustrates me though is that he's so close-minded about terminators. I can understand not wanting to trust them completely but seeing them as completely evil is ridiculous and puts him in my dislike section of characters. On the good side of open minded, there is Elison who continues to surprise me in a good way. Supernatural has ruined me because I keep expecting him to: 1) Think Sarah and John are behind everything ignoring all evidence of robotics and 2) Die and both haven't happened yet! Amazing. Charley bores me too as well as the "romance". On the good side of characters, there is Morris! Who is adorable and funny and I love him. The prom asking was so cute as well as being fake!John Connor. I hope he stays. Also Andy was very cute and if I had to ship anyone, I would have done him and Sarah. Ah well. Dungeons and Dragons was my least favorite episode as I was really looking forward to seeing the apocalypse land and it was mostly pretty boring. Except for BUBBLES aka Andre Royo from The Wire which filled me with glee. I really wish there was some female resistance fighters though. I just hope the show is renewed and Fox doesn't fuck it up again, the bastards. This show really would have been a great companion to Firefly entering it's 6th season *sigh*
Speaking of Andre Royo, I had this dream with him! Well first it started with Victor Garber who I saw outside of this Paley center type event in LA. I was nervous about whether to approach him and in my hesitation I missed him and he walked away and I was so angry at myself and even tried to call his name. But then inside the auditorium place he was singing so I was in heaven there. But then Andre Royo came up to the stage and I was SO excited. As was everyone else because the room was filled with WGA type people who recognized the brilliance of The Wire and the whole crowd went even more crazy when Wood Harris went up there too. It was just so awesome to be with so many people who loved The Wire. So that was a very good dream.
I've also had two Victor Garber dreams where he was Jack. One in which I was Sydney (or at least Sydney-like) and I had to comfort him when he was all torn up about Irina. Because Irina was with this other guy (because of the events in Search and Rescue I think) and he saw them together and it was all very sad. Although they did have this very purple colored filtered scene that was pretty. But in my second dream I was Irina and her and Jack were at this concert but wanted to leave. And then me (as Irina) starts kissing Jack! It was very hot. Definitely my favorite dream so far ;)
Very sad about Charles Heston dying. I just know him as Ben-Hur who was very slashy in the movie without knowing it.
