Movies I'm looking forward to
I don't usually watch movies in theaters (or at all) but here are some I definitely plan on checking out:
Arrested Development movie: I am SO EXCITED to see this, there are no words. I'm sure it'll be hilarious and just seeing my favorite characters again with new material will be wonderful. As mentioned previously, I'm planning on seeing this one a LOT, at least ten times which I've never done before to make up for not seeing Serenity more than once.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blooded Prince: The book had my favorite main plot of all the books (closely followed by the third) so I'm hoping I can ignore the crappy romance and side plots and enjoy the good of the story. Hopefully the actor that plays Dumbledore can pull off the scenes that remain vivid in my mind. Also, good Snape scenes!
Get Smart: Steve Carell looks ridiculously hot in a suit. Plus the previews make it seem hilarious. Mmmm Steve.
I Love You, Phillip Morris: It's like Beecher/Keller! With Ewan, yum. I can never resist a prison love story.
Milk: A movie about the first gay mayor of San Francisco with Victor Garber, I'm so in. I had hoped Steve would be in it but Sean Penn and James Franco work too.
The Subtle Knife: Just so I can see the scene that SHOULD have been in The Golden Compass. Stupid fuckers. But it'll make my shippy heart happy and it's one of the most emotional of the books.
Star Trek XI: Kirk/Spock and Zachary Quinto! I'd hope to see all of the original plus movies before I see this but who knows if that'll happen.
The X Files 2?: If I finish the TV show in time and love it enough.
Mama Mia: Following in the footsteps of Rent and Hairspray, I always love a good movie musical.
Anymore that you think I'd be interested in?

I have the perfect song for TSK/Amber Spyglass vid (if they make the last book, I highly doubt they can do the book justice on screen though). Good song about science and spirituality. Good stuff.
I was sorely disappointed with the TGB adaptation. I don't have hope for the follow-up, but if the movie's pretty, I will still vid it. :)

Yay vid! I was disappointed by the first as well but the prettiness is nice.

I'm kinda nervous about The X-Files (cause I think maybe they waited too long) and Get Smart (because I adore the original), but I'm sure I'll see both, anyway.

I've seen one original Get Smart and enjoyed it so I'm hoping this will be more of the same. Steve Carell is amazing so I know I'll enjoy it on the basis of him.

I've never read the Harry Potter books, but I enjoy the films. When does the new one come out? And what romantic angst are you referring too? lol.

November 2008, I can't wait! Um, oh god they basically ruined Ron/Hermione for me with this crappy Lavender thing and Harry and Ginny have this thing that I find lame...I basically just ignore it for all main story plot.

Lavender? Is she new? I'm assuming she gets all up on Ron? lol. I've heard about the outcome of the books and, from the films anyway, I never really got the impression that Ron and Hermione would like each other. Same with Harry and Ginny. They are rarely even in the SAME ROOM! lol. Of course, the books could be more detailed.

Um no she's been in the books for awhile in a small role. You'll see in the movie I guess. The books are a LOT more detailed and DEFINITELY way worth reading and INFINITY times better than the movies. I have a real issue with them so...

According to Chris Carter, you don't need to have watched the X-Files series in order to appreciate the movie... which makes me unhappy. I've been hoping for a movie to tie up some of the loose ends that the series left us with (LOTS of 'em) but I guess I'll take what I can get.

I believe in watching things in order so it doesn't matter either way. But I do wish the movie would wrap things up to make fans happen. Hopefully it'll at least be good.
