Forward it like it's hot, forward it like it's hot

Linksapalooza:

Nominate Fandom's Hottest Characters. Choose three of your hottest characters of all time. For the record, this is impossible for me to have any kind of rankings but I chose Brian Kinney (that was easy actually), Stringer Bell and Irina Derevko. I was trying to go based on hot rather than favorite/cute/sexy/most awesome (although my nominees all qualify there too).

The Organization For Transformative Works (of which I am a member :))is hosting an online con full of fannish celebration at [livejournal.com profile] otw_onlinecon in honor of being one year old with challenges, panels, events and more. Go check it out!

[livejournal.com profile] trollprincess is holding a talk about awesome female characters day here. It was great reading about many of my favorite characters and I talked about the awesomeness that is Irina Derevko.

After this article about why women don't like sci-fi which is mostly bullshit IMO, here's a poll about women and sci-fi with over 1000 women liking sci-fi, thank you very much. I love sci-fi because I love good characters and stories which sci-fi has many including exploring interesting themes in unique ways that are hard to explore in other genres.

EW's List of the 25 Funniest People in Entertainment. They got a lot right including Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Will Arnett and Amy Poelher and David Cross. I would also include the writers of The Office especially Mindy Kaling and Paul Lieberstein.

EW's List of great Ugly Betty quips I love this show.

Some brief TV thoughts:

I loved this episode! It felt so much more like the classic UB with the return of Wilhelmina and Marc, the BFFness of Marc and Amanda and Betty working on her writing. The only thing I didn't like was Betty/Gio which just blah, too soon and I'm done getting emotionally invested in relationships that will just get torn about by external sources. The dance was kind of cute though. I mostly just liked how we got to go back to Betty's old school and her seeing herself in the girl at the bleachers.

"Let's do this bitch" Wilhelmina and Marc are BACK! Hell, yeah baby. Their entrance was one of the best things this season and OMG SO HOT. I love the color coordination, Marc's satisfied smirk, the foot shots, Wilhelmina throwing the scarf, Amanda following along and the western music and positions. And Marc=HOT. Guhhhh. Talk about lots of pretty and vidding eye candy. "You are a horror movie I wish would never end" Hee! And I really love how Wilhelmina is actually still awesome at her job and helps the magazine no matter what her plans are. I love Marc's call from Vermont hahaha. Wilhelmeaner!

"Marc and Amanda, we're so funny together. Everyone says so." So true! They're adorable and hilarious together. I love them making fun of Betty and Gio. And I love how Marc loves how hot Henry is! That and his apartment slashy scene with Daniel which was amazing and deliciously slashy. So sad about Amanda's "dad". Awwww to the kiss on the cheek and them being family! They're the best.

Hilda's coach crush is so, so cute. I love her little dance hehe. I was just disappointed that Justin didn't dance with a boy but I guess we can't have everything.

I'm feeling horrible for Cristina :( When she gets really down, she gets more willing to say the meanest thing on her mind so I sympathize with her. And Meredith's not much more equipped to handle it. Cristiiiiina *hugs*. Oh and I loved "I don't speak girl." I hope she gets a lot of screentime in the finale. I had a dream about her the other night actually that was really intense but I don't remember it unfortunately.

Erica and Callie kiss OMG! So freaking awesome. I was totally cheering. I loved how he even though it had the shield of being about Mark, it really was a test from Hahn seeing if Callie could really handle it.

My favorite part was definitely Dean and Sam singing together in the Impala. Sooo cute. I also loved the last shot of Dean in hell because I love how powerful, viddable images like that. The sprinkler holy water thing was cool too. Other than that and feeling sad about Dean and Sam, it was kind of meh. I liked [livejournal.com profile] coffeeandink's post about how the episode didn't really answer many questions which was kind of a let down. And the increased sexist insults this season are annoying and I'm sick of them but I don't care enough to have anything to say about it.

*squee* I totally cheered at the ending. Barney loves Robin! Oh the beautiful look of love. And Ted and Barney are back together! I am so, so glad. Barney running to the hospital was priceless. And they're "more than friends" eeee. The slash never dies. Hospital beds always bring out the great shippy moments. I also adored Marshall believing in miracles which is so him with all his proof memories.

Blair and Chuck totally made this episode for me. Sleeping together in bed! So cute. Blair's, "I can be bitch enough for both of us," and Chuck's, "I love it when you talk dirty,". They are so incredibly awesome. I love Blair bragging about Georgina and fixing his tie. "No one ever enjoys their first time...except you, save me a dance?" *sqee* God, I love them. "I was in love with Blair" !!! Bad boy falls in love for the first time never fails. Chuck isn't going to give up and wants a second chance wedding speech love. Their looks are so sexy. I love how he just goes for the dance. "You don't belong with Nate...*whisper* never have, never will" GUH and so true. "You don't belong with anyone" Probably true but it only makes it more romantic and hot when he kisses her *happy sigh* Go back camera, go back!!! Love the Tuscany trip which I wish had gone through *sigh* Talk about the worst parental speech ever. I'm not surprised though but damn it is frustrating. It renews my faith in fandom that lots of people ship them.

Nate and Chuck are back together, yay! Aww handshake.

Dan and Rufus and Lily are boring, blah blah blah. Serena should be glad he's gone. Pretty wedding dresses! I just hate how we skip ahead with all the relationships and don't get to see how they came to be or what happened between them in the early moments. Way to skip out on the good parts, show. I am interested on seeing Serena and Nate try to see if it can work out.

I absolutely loved the House finale and it totally made me cry but I will talk about it at length later.
