Happiness is a good TV show

I am so happy right now. It feels like I have all the ingredients of a perfect night. Earlier today I ran to the mall, watched Get Smart which was full of Steeeve goodness (and Masi!), ran back, had super delicious food and then settled down to watch some damn good television otherwise known as Mad Men. Plus lots of kitty loving and great music in the background. I'm thinking all of that combined put me in a very good mood.

Mad Men has now totally succeeded in hooking me in and I highly recommend it. It's so good! I watched the first two episodes a few months ago or so and was intrigued but watching this third episode has really gotten me to love it. It's so subtle! I love that. And Don is so intriguing in that mysterious kind of way. And I love Rachel too. The opening credits are incredibly beautiful and one of my favorites ever. I love that they're exploring advertising which hasn't been done to death (see cops, medicine and lawyers). Oh and Amber from House is on it! I knew I recognized her and then it just came to me. A few spoilery things about 103 under the cut, I loved the dog! Awwww. And it related back so well to the moment on the ceiling with Rachel! I just loved all the ring/jewelry focus and Don's consideration of his marriage and what love is in which I especially loved how he looked at that couple who were kissing and seemed to be in love. And man, do Don and Rachel have some chemistry. I can't wait to see what happens!

Also I finished Burn Notice and enjoyed it very much. Very fun show not to mention all the cool spy things, guns (and the woman who loves them) and pretty Miami.

I love nights like this :D

Yay! Those are the best nights indeed.

I tried to get into Mad Men over winter break, and it just didn't happen. Maybe I should give it another shot.

It was wonderful :)

You should! It can take a little while to get into it and some of it can be cringeworthy but it does try to be realistic which I appreciate and it's really very, very good.

Mad Men is wonderful and so different from anything else on TV. I think its relaxed pacing suits the time period it portrays.

It does! I did like that it was a bit quicker near the end but I like how it gives you time to absorb it all. And all the details are so great.

Yay!! So good to hear you're happy :)

But why aren't you online?!

Btw, I am sooo tempted to finish the last few episodes of Rome. Since we can't actually watch them together in person (or can we? ...are you taking your road test soon so you can visit me?), maybe we could watch them at the same time online? I'm dying here! ;)

Sorry, I will try...once I get back from my trip. Hope we can watch Rome together, either way!
