I am now in California. It is GLORIOUS. I'm all settled in my new room. The good news is apparently my roommate is never around so I'm going to have the bedroom mostly to myself \o/ Just what I wanted. Know what I'm wearing right now? Pants and a t-shirt...and I'm HOT. It is amazing and wonderful. I had to take off my long sleeve t-shirt last night and it made me so happy. I walked around campus with only a light coat! I'm NOT shivering or all bundled up trapped in the whip of cold. These are beautiful pleasures I have missed so much.
The bad news is I missed my flight by five minutes due to a variety of factors (like say two baggage checks, bad snowy weather - gotta love that travel curse) so I didn't get to go to the California Museum of Photography after all :( At least I had my laptop and free wireless internet to keep me company. Number of times I almost started crying/cried during the flights over? Too many to count. It's just...I made it back to my favorite place in the world! I'm home and I love my city so, so much. I see palm trees out my window! Taking the shuttle back, I kept looking out the window in wonder. Nothing can ruin my glee at being here, nothing. By chance, I met the RA right when I got to the apartments and so I was checked in, no problem. The two roommates I've met have both seen nice too. I walked around Chapman today and it was just as beautiful as usual. They did add these beautiful colored lights at this fountain thing AND a new swimming pool which I can't wait to try out (brief pause to consider swimming outside in February). I really love it here.
Today I am heading out to Venice Beach as I miss it desperately and want to again walk around like I did my first time here. Full circle and all that. Plus I need to do some shopping for footwear (and a new cellphone, again). It'll just be great to see all the creativity and the beautiful beaches. I will have to miss most of the Superbowl but I'll be back in time to see the end of it and The Office (*SQUEE*) so I don't mind.
Wow, that was awesome! First time I've loved an episode since S2/early S3. Most importantly, I was actually invested in it and cared about what happened. Adama and Tigh! Gah they better be alright; I love their (slashy) bond so much. I just hope this revolution fails cause in the end cylon forgiveness really is the best thing. And both kisses were cute although I can't say I have too much investment in either of the ships. This episode was like everyone decided to stop being sad and be awesome instead (/Barney). Not awesome in a good sense but awesome in a exciting!danger!fun! sense. Can't wait for more!
