Beach Games

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] paddies and [livejournal.com profile] claireweasley! Claire, thank you so much for all your wonderful fic, great picspams and most of all, you're great personality. I hope you have a great year!

Happy Belated Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] jarrow272 and [livejournal.com profile] hafital!

Let it be known that at this moment, I am INSANELY jealous at all you East Coast people watching The Office finale right now. In the meantime, here's my episode thoughts on Beach Games.

The beginning was wonderful. I had brief The Injury/The Secret/Gay Witch Hunt flashbacks with Dwight and Michael working together on the computer trying to figure out Michael's *illness*. Which is actually being bored and being lazy, which I think we all suffer from at some point. "No, I don't have eggs" I love how Dwight actually considers this. The Pam TH was classic especially "Dwight is always gravely concerned." in that perfect tone. I love Dwight's undying love for Michael. Animal waste! I swear they live in their own little world(s).

I love how Michael makes them all leave which Dwight does hurriedly and then addresses David Wallace as "great honor" like he'd always address Jan with the titles and such. And of course he can't resist throwing in random things even to the CFO. The sigh! It really did sound like Jan and I love how Michael was so excited to think of her. "I broke Jan's heart, David. And I feel awful." Awww. I love how he tries to make it so dramatic that he ruined Jan's life. I do think Jan went out of town because she needed a break from Michael and her feelings about the breakup. It was funny to see how Michael can't help sharing details of his personal life while David tries to cut him off with the classic repeated Michaels. "May god guide you in your quest." LOVE! So very much Business School "May your hats fly as high as your dreams" Michael with him making it so ceremonious.

We finally get to use swimsuits after the Booze Cruise fakeout. I must also do a mention of Michael's Sandals shirt. We'll always have Sandals...Loved to see a Meredith TH! Even if she proves she is still kind of crazy. Oscar's speedo and leatherpants! Oh, Michael. "I'm just yanking your chain-not literally" I'm not even going to there hehe. Awww Toby. He looked so cute in his beach clothes. But I can't help loving the Toby hate. "If Toby is apart of it, then it would suck" Hee. I can't blame him because it reminds me of my brother hate. I didn't want my brother to go to California with me because I knew it'd ruin my perfect day of going to the place of my dreams. Sadly I wasn't the boss of it so it didn't work. I still feel bad for poor Toby though missing Pam's (cluelessly speaking) two piece. "find out about people's character-not their hotness per se" Only you, Michael. "I need to see which one of these people have the skills to be a chicken head" LOL. Poor Pam with her boring jobs :( "I just want to lie on the beach and eat hot dogs. That's all I've ever wanted." Aww Kevin. He's too funny.

The bus scene was one of my favorites because I'm such a sucker for those happy family scenes. I love Angela singing silently! Oh Angela, how are you so wonderful. And then they all started singing with Michael's high voice in the background. Everytime I think I can't be any more in love with this show, I am. It was so sad to see Toby stuck in The Office. Poor guy never gets a break. Stanley: "If you don't like it Stanley, you can sit in the back of the bus" Ouch Michael. Think of what you're saying (even if it is horribly funny) before you say it (Jim face!). "mandatory fun activities" Isn't that an oxymoron? Like forced volunteering ie one of my annnoyances (just don't call it volunteering). "management parables" Hee, Dwight is love. I love how Pam's still drawing, nice callback to the art show later mentioned.

Michael telling everyone to find a cozy spot and then makes them all get up again. Jim's little shaking his head no to Michael's Lake Scranton fact was hilarious (and a nice parallel to Dwight shaking his head no in Ben Franklin). Michael making it into this huge Survivor like reality show was too funny with the tribes. Poor Pam though. Michael calling Jim good looking was too funny. He really does want to be Jim in the end. Dwight choosing Michael was so him but picking Ryan next works so well. Gryffindor! Harry Potter references make me happy. Dwight believing you shouldn't say Voldemort but He-who-must-not-be-named makes me overcome with glee. That really is his reality. Stanley was amazing in this episode, perfect "I do not care attitude" and yet his touch of defiance ("No, the blue team"). It's ridiculous that Michael picked Andy over Karen (although the Cornell mention was funny) but I'll let it go because it set up the Jim/Karen as Pam's motivation to be honest and Andy in the water.

The egg race was perfectly in character with Stanley happy the egg dropped, Kelly afraid to hit a rock, Ryan annoyed at Dwight's overenthusiasm (nice Initiation flashback) and Jim being cute making Karen do things that isn't there. I adore Andy's continued trying to handle things the *right*, mature way. Creed with the fish! I love weird, WTF Creed. Aww Karen and Jim were cute with the egg throwing but mostly in a friend way but poor Pam. Now I wonder whether all Pam's looks to them was her being jealous of their friendship more than any romantic feelings. Kelly: "Can we just take those first two things?" Hee. Dwight's half-open mouth at learning Michael was leaving was too sad. I love them their relationship so much. Stanley only participating to get the job was too awesome along with his whole "Game on" TH. "If Michael organizes some kind of group hug, stand next to me." How is Dwight/Angela so awesome? I enjoy their final revenge on Andy.

The sumo suits were one of the funniest things in the episode and Stanley's great rush at Jim was one of the best LMAO moments of the season. The waddling fall! Hee. The slo-mo Stanley look! "I thought that I might die. On beach day." Now that'd be bad. Dwight and Andy fighting looked so much like two brothers fighting. Oscar's TH made me think that a big reason why the people at Dunder-Mifflin stay there (besides Michael and Dwight) is they only react to big, negative changes. Oscar would only go if someone bad was put in charge and Jim only leaves when he falls with Pam. "I think I might try girls for awhile. Angela thinks I can cross over. We'll see." Oh, Oscar. I just adore his "gay affair" with Angela and can't help but think its hilarious that she'd try to get him to convert. Oh, Angela. Speaking of, I loved her standing celebration when Dwight won and quick cover up of it. I love how Dwight goes into Andy's TH and continues to beat him up. They are too funny as rivals. Andy floating away was hilarious along with Angela sabatoging him. Andy being out on the lake during Michael's TH was so funny especially with the zoom in when Michael didn't know where he was. I love the camera.

The 10 points, gold star and thumbs up conversion chart was great. The Jim/Karen lake scene was beyond beautiful and Jim's making fun of Karen's mistake was too cute. I'm still not sure if David called Jim or if Jim called David so I'll pass judgement on that. Stanley's change from "How so?" to "Sure thing" that he can't keep up is so perfect character wise. He did try at least. I love the dramatic "Fire!" with the flames coming up. Pam's "I fully expect to burn my feet and go to the hospital" shows to me the difference between her approach in Beach Games and Jim's big declaration in Casino Night. There Jim expected Pam to change her mind about Jim and get together with him. Whereas Pam doesn't expect her speech to really change anything, in fact she knows it'll probably end badly having to work with Jim and Karen and everyone but she still does it anyways. "Andy, where's Andy?" Look at Angela's face! Aww she's so self-satisfied hehe. "My name is Andrew Bernard, I was with a group called Dunder-Mifflin" LOL Oh, Andy, poor guy. George Foreman grill! I am such a sucker for contuinity.

Michael not being able to do the coal walk reminded me a lot of Safety Training with Michael finding out he's not the guy he tries to pretend to be. Pam trying to help him even after Michael stopped her from going was too sweet though. If the coalwalk is being honest, Michael still has a ways to go in being himself. Dwight definitely does not have that problem and is actually very overeager in being the most truthful, bravest and doing outragous things in the process. I was torn between laughter, cringing and admiring him during that entire Dwight scene. But mostly cringing. "I never looked like that." That right there is Michael's problem with his image and why he's so negative to Dwight, because he's afraid to look that bad himself. "Whose Bob Hope?" LOL Oh, Kelly. I love how they both agree on Amanda Bines and Michael gives them both as comedians to look up to. Not really in the same category, Michael. Dwight trying to stop Michael from saying Voldemort never gets any less funny. I love he takes everything so seriously. It's everyone's inner geek coming out.

PAM! Her look towards the camera (twice)! Pam walked the coal walk! The way she waits to gather up her courage was very realistic too. I love her little smile and how she was the only one to do the coal walk right. Her excitement was so wonderful! "I did the coal walk!" :D Pam getting back at Michael "You couldn't even do that. Maybe I should be your boss" was perfect in how he was treating her all day (even if he was in his own world). His little smile was too cute though. "Why didn't any of you come to my art show?" I am so amazed and happy that she said this. They should have and I'm assuming she's not counting Michael and Oscar (the latter who didn't even come up to her and say anything positive). If The Office people really care about her, they would have come to support her at the very least. Michael coming forgives him in my eyes for not letting her participate (along with the previous mentioned Pam statement). "It's like sometimes some of you act like I don't even exist" I am really impressed she realizes this and share it with everyone. It's so good to let out your simple, honest feelings about the situation to let people know they're upset so they can (maybe) change it.

"I called off my wedding because of you" *squee* Some things are just too romantic in a Jim/Pam way and yet also because Pam finally admits it from all the way back in GWH when she doesn't know why she cancelled her wedding. "I miss you." Aww that's the basis of the situation. "I shouldn't have been with Roy. And there were a lot of reasons to call off my wedding. But the truth is, I didn't care about any of those reasons until I met you." So beautifully said in both a romantic way but most of all in a character way. I'm so glad she realizes that there were more reasons to not be with Roy but that Jim showed her that the way he was treating her and who he is, wasn't enough for her. That she deserves MORE than that. Karen's look was perfect in a "Okaaay then" kind of way. "I miss having fun with you. Just you, not everyone in the circle." lol But she speaks for all of us. No matter what happens next season, I really hope they'll bring the fun back in the Jim/Pam relationship. I love Pam's smile at the end and her "Good day" because it really, really was. For HER and not anyone else. She really did it! :)

Michael's realizing her amazingness was great along with his funny salesman quip at the end. Also Angela's little look at Jim was too funny. She gets it from all the way back in S2 with pam pong.I LOVE the ensemble singing Flintstones. Made me incredibly happy as those family moments usually do. Michael doing the background parts was perfect and I really like how the lyrics weren't perfect, just like real people, most people only know the famous parts of songs. Ryan's happy face and him singing along only shows his growth in becoming part of the office family and accepting that. WILMA!!! Oh, Michael. His cute little sideways smile at the end just kills me with love. Now THIS is my show. Pretty much perfect in every way.

In other news, I have gotten hooked onto Scrubs. It's so good! I needed a new comedy to watch and no laugh track + high quality + funny and charming= a great show for me to watch. I'm on S2 right now. I love all the characters not to mention the funny fantasy sequences. But my definite favorite part is Dr. Cox. He's like House! I definitely have a type. He's so funny though and handles JD so well with his hilarious speeches. And yet he really does care about his patients and even makes heroic moves for them sometimes. I have completely fallen for him. I'm not much for shipping for this show but I'm especially open to any Dr. Cox ships, at the moment Cox/JD, Cox/Jordan and even a little Cox/Carla. I do love JD with all his funny fantasies and because he's such a dork and it's too cute. And lines like this: "Sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it" are not only incredibly slashy but adorable. JD/Turk's best friendship is so enjoyable to watch. I really like Eliot too with all her insecurities and funny inappropiate comments and Carla is great too. And Jordan is too funny and awesome at throwing down comebacks. The end of the last episode of S1 KILLED me in its awesomeness. The only thing I'm not so much of a fan of is the Turk/Carla relationship which bores me. Oh well. I'm on His Story now which was wonderful in diverting from the standard JD POV. Looking forward to watching more!

Onto the Upfronts. I'm happy that The Office got more episodes but after all the talk of more episodes, it was a little disappointing. I just don't want to deal with any more horrible hiatuses. The move to 9:00 scares me even though I know being the highest/second highest show on Thursday, it makes sense. And I do know that NBC loves the show so its not going to cancel it if the ratings go down. But it makes it harder to get people to watch it if they're watching other things. I'm happy Friday Night Lights is renewed even if Fridays does not seem like the best time to put it but I'm hoping NBC will move the show to a different day (maybe for a low rated new series) if it does bad. I'm hoping to catch up on How I Met Your Mother this summer so I'm glad that's renewed as well. I don't usually look forward to new shows until I hear critical and fannish review of them but at the moment I may be checking out Pushing Daises, Private Practice, Gossip Girls and Viva Laughlin because I am a sucker for musicals. We'll see. I'm not heartbroken over the Veronica Mars cancellation because I've been so disappointed with the show lately and it looks like Rob Thomas has not found a way to get the quality back to S1. Oh well, I'll always have my season one DVDs.

It's been kind of a crazy week for me in traveling. I had kind of sucky trip north but in the midst of all of that, I got to go see Hollywood Blvd and see all the stars in beautiful California weather and that made it all worth it. No matter how bad it gets for me, walking outside and knowing I'm in the best place on earth makes me so happy. It's just so great to see people appreciating entertainment including the great impersonators including a Jack Sparrow and Michael Jackson. I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain yesterday which was fun. X, a four dimensional rollercoaster was mindblowing fantastic and gave me great an emotional rush. Definitely my favorite, defying gravity indeed. I went on 6 rollercoasters but unfortunatly, for the first time ever, I got nausous and threw up which kind of ruined the mood for me. I went on one more but eventually decided I couldn't take anymore and saw a bird show. That was fun and I got to be a volunteer and have a parrot land on me and then got a free picture after. It was cool.

Traveling gave me the oppurtunity to watch a lot of Office episodes so I went back and watch a lot of S3 episodes and others to see Pam's character arc. I saw the Pilot, The Dundies, Boys and Girls, Casino Night, Gay Witch Hunt, The Convention, The Coup, Initiation, Business School, Cocktails and of course, Beach Games. It's been a long journey for her. I'll never get tired of seeing these episodes. I'm excited to see the finale even though I know there'll be no new episodes, I just want to know what happens and have some closure for the season. I already have a full summer planned with lots of Office related things to do plus many more Office rewatchings. It's nice to have a show to love with all my heart. 2 more hours until the finale!!! *avoids recent LJ posts*

W00t! You're in Scrubs WHEEEEE! JD/Cox is SO MUCH FUN. As is JD/Janitor, though not very popular >.> But JD/Cox is like THE mainstay of Scrubs fanfic, so expect a lot of great stuff from that.

AND OMG THE OFFICE. I won't spoil you on anything, but suffice to say my face will be like O________O for a week. So much fic to come from this, SO MUCH LOVE =D

Scrubs is awesome! I had my doubts in the beginning but a few episodes in and I was completely loving it. I always wondered what you saw in JD/Cox and after seeing the show, I am LOVING it. I can't wait to read the fanfic once I catch up.

OMG The Office is right! Wow. I am shocked here. They finally did it.
