Spoilers for American Idol Finale )

In other news, last final is tomorrow. A bit worried because my motivation has dropped down to almost zero. Thankfully it shouldn't be too hard but I do really want an A in this class. Finished my two hardest finals on Monday and think I did well enough for at least a B on both of them so I'm okay. In better college news, I'm changing my major. I was frustrated because my major wasn't artistically creative enough and none of the other majors fit me so I decided to create my own major. Going to do a Web Design major combining art and computer science so I'm really excited about it. Going back to NY on Saturday night, I think I'll be okay for the summer. If anyone in the LA area wants to meet up Friday evening/night, let me know. In other good news, I do these economic experiments for money and I won 100 dollars last week! It was amazing, I had 20 chances to pick a number from 1-100 and if the random computer picks the number, then I win and I picked 43 and did! Sooo nice.

GLEE!! It certainly made me gleeful. I will give Fox mad props for airing Glee after American Idol where it fits in perfectly. Spoilers under the cut )

In short, I am completely in love with it and I have a new show, yay! I am so sad I missed the preview in Santa Monica with the cast but sadly SoCal public transportation SUCKS. Ah well, I'm sure it'll be at Paley next year. This helps the lonely sad hole that Pushing Daisies left in my heart. Yes, I finally watched the final episode and it reminded me why I love the show so much. I may have teared up at the end. Damn you, ABC. And speaking of, I tried Cupid but sadly the female lead was horrible. So NOT my Claire Allen. The Trevor guy was good but the difference between Jeremy Piven and him was striking since Piven is so amazing. Poor, poor show.

I had one of those rare vid match making sessions the other day as I was able to pair a vid idea I want to do with a song that I thought would be great to vid to. And it TOTALLY works. I'm so excited that I went and vidded the ending since it works so well. Here's two House vid recs: I Just Want You by [profile] inkytips is a super cute House/Wilson vid that pretty much sums up exactly what I believe about their relationship. It uses some of the wonderful S5 clips with a nostalgic look back at past seasons. I like the pacing on it too. I also like Meds by [profile] scully1121, a great more character focused House vid (although a bit too much House/Cuddy for me personally but that's just me) about obviously, House and vicodin. I love the jump cut editing and use of imagery. HUGE spoilers for the S5 finale so don't watch if you plan to.

I have two Dreamwidth invites if anyone needs one. Leave me a comment and I'll invite you :) And a pretty, Brian/Justin kiss picture before I go. Keep it gay everyone, keep it gay.

Michael/Jan thoughts [Jan. 24th, 2007|01:13 pm]

[Current Mood |optimistic]

So it's official: I completely and utterly ship Michael/Jan together on The Office. After seeing Back From Vacation, I'm all in. Since last Thursday I've been crazy about them and it hasn't died down much. I enjoy Jim and Pam but they don't interest me like Michael and Jan do.

Thoughts on Back From Vacation (Spoilers) )

From the start, Jan ie Melora Hardin reminded me of someone I had seen before but I couldn't place her. I checked the IMDB but she hadn't been in anything I had seen. Then I realised it was her voice that was reminding me of something. Finally I figured it out: she reminds me of Claire Allen aka Paula Marsha from Cupid. And wow, does Trevor/Claire parallel Michael/Jan. Michael and Trevor both have that childish innocence to them, the enthusiasm and boundless confidence not to mention suffer (slightly) from delusions. Not to mention they both believe so strongly in romance (you complete me!!) and sex. Jan and Claire are so alike in their professional attitudes and hardened exterior and belief more in compatibility. And they both try to keep their relationship purely professional but thank god, in this show Michael and Jan actually get to kiss. Hopefully this will make me slightly less bitter about never getting to see what happened with Trevor and Claire.

Now I'm just nervous where the show is going to go with their relationship. I've been dying the last two episodes to see them with sadly (almost) nothing and I can't believe I have to wait another week to see a new episode. I am obsessing on The Office at the moment. It's just SO GOOD and the actors are all a class act. Which speaking of, I'm going to get to meet almost all of them March 2nd! Hopefully I'll be able to go to the Paley Festival where everyone besides Steve Carell is going to be there including Melora Hardin *squee* I really, really can't wait.

I'm kind of dying to vid Michael and Jan. They have the best facial expressions. I have been listening to a bunch of ridiculously romantic songs that express my love for them but it's not really their relationship. And I really should vid existing vid projects. But I need to express my obsessive love for them so I found a song I think will work. I went out to buy the DVDs on Saturday so I've got those all set up. And they also have some great deleted scenes and commentaries with some great mentions including one of my favorite quotes right here:

"Any single-cell organism has to have a spine. And that's me. But the spine is always controlled by a brain and that is Jan. But the brain needs a heart and that is me again. So ironic. You know what? The heart is smarter than the brain. But...the brain is so effin' hot." -Michael Scott

[Current Mood |loved]

Wow, me posting twice on the same night. Never thought I'd see the day. But after watching a few more episodes of Cupid, I'm head over heels for it and must express my love.

Rob Thomas is a god. And he created one. Cupid, a hilarious, romantic and smart show that got cancelled (as all the great shows do, see Firefly) but which has captured my heart. The basic plotline is that Cupid is sent back to Earth as punishment and has to match up 100 couples to become immortal again. His therapist, Claire Allen tries to get him to see that he is delusional but he keeps on believing and putting couples together based on chemistry, dreams, romantic notions, etc while she follows a common interest and getting to know each other approach. They have one of the best relationships with each other, its so funny as they verbally spar with one another, bantering, snarking, etc as he continues to annoy her and try to get her to loosen up. Think Logan and Veronica from Veronica Mars-but even better. At least thats my opinion, I like the buildup more in this one. I didn't think they were right for each other in the beginning even though I saw it being set up but they slowly get to you and now I can't help but love them together, want them together, ship them together. They melt my heart. The whole show brings back true romance and in true Rob Thomas fashion, even throws some twists at you. Plus its filled with Greek and Roman mythology references, another RT staple. It's just a quality show and I am enjoying it like no other, I can't stop watching it. Check it out, there's downloaded copies at the very least out there. Just get sucked into the magic that is Cupid.
