Spoilers for American Idol Finale )

In other news, last final is tomorrow. A bit worried because my motivation has dropped down to almost zero. Thankfully it shouldn't be too hard but I do really want an A in this class. Finished my two hardest finals on Monday and think I did well enough for at least a B on both of them so I'm okay. In better college news, I'm changing my major. I was frustrated because my major wasn't artistically creative enough and none of the other majors fit me so I decided to create my own major. Going to do a Web Design major combining art and computer science so I'm really excited about it. Going back to NY on Saturday night, I think I'll be okay for the summer. If anyone in the LA area wants to meet up Friday evening/night, let me know. In other good news, I do these economic experiments for money and I won 100 dollars last week! It was amazing, I had 20 chances to pick a number from 1-100 and if the random computer picks the number, then I win and I picked 43 and did! Sooo nice.

GLEE!! It certainly made me gleeful. I will give Fox mad props for airing Glee after American Idol where it fits in perfectly. Spoilers under the cut )

In short, I am completely in love with it and I have a new show, yay! I am so sad I missed the preview in Santa Monica with the cast but sadly SoCal public transportation SUCKS. Ah well, I'm sure it'll be at Paley next year. This helps the lonely sad hole that Pushing Daisies left in my heart. Yes, I finally watched the final episode and it reminded me why I love the show so much. I may have teared up at the end. Damn you, ABC. And speaking of, I tried Cupid but sadly the female lead was horrible. So NOT my Claire Allen. The Trevor guy was good but the difference between Jeremy Piven and him was striking since Piven is so amazing. Poor, poor show.

I had one of those rare vid match making sessions the other day as I was able to pair a vid idea I want to do with a song that I thought would be great to vid to. And it TOTALLY works. I'm so excited that I went and vidded the ending since it works so well. Here's two House vid recs: I Just Want You by [profile] inkytips is a super cute House/Wilson vid that pretty much sums up exactly what I believe about their relationship. It uses some of the wonderful S5 clips with a nostalgic look back at past seasons. I like the pacing on it too. I also like Meds by [profile] scully1121, a great more character focused House vid (although a bit too much House/Cuddy for me personally but that's just me) about obviously, House and vicodin. I love the jump cut editing and use of imagery. HUGE spoilers for the S5 finale so don't watch if you plan to.

I have two Dreamwidth invites if anyone needs one. Leave me a comment and I'll invite you :) And a pretty, Brian/Justin kiss picture before I go. Keep it gay everyone, keep it gay.

So the Pushing Daisies ratings are in and they're horrible. Fuck.

I thought I was over being worried about the ratings last year, it did alright but now...6.3 million viewers overall, 2 million 18-49, 1.7 18-34. To have a decent chance at renewal, they need at least 3.5 million for 18-49. What is wrong with the world? You can blame it on marketing/promotion or the world in terms of how can people not watch such a perfect show but either way it really sucks. I feel so powerless like nothing I can do can change this and I really, really, really don't want to lose this show. I'll willingly work in a save our show campaign, it does feel like The Office in early S2 with no one seeing it but I don't have a lot of hope it'll work.

I'm seriously crying about this. I fell in love with the show again last night and I love it more than almost anything else. It's like this beautiful, fantasy, imaginative world that I can go into, a wonderful fairytale like the books of my youth. I wish I could live there sometimes, it's that perfect. It has one of the most romantic, charming couples I've ever seen that make me smile so much that it warms my heart, the most brilliant and witty dialogue, the most original and uniquely decorative sets ever, funny and delightful characters, singing and musical references and a dark, mysterious edge. Basically, EVERYTHING. It's made of hearts and flowers and love and pretty and I want to keep it safe so no one can hurt it. This must be what Firefly felt like. God, I'd give up all my other shows minus The Office to keep this show on air. It's not fair! It's only had a half a season, at least SGA got five seasons.

I don't want to lose my show :(

[Current Music |tv in the background]

I'm feeling so bummed tonight.

Ruminations about my life and college )

Didn't like House tonight. One guess why. Promo > Episode. The thing that disappoints me about House is it's never going to be the show I want it to be. I hate the episodic procedural plots sooooooo much and the ducklings are all boring and I don't like them besides Kutner who is very cute. If it was up to me, it'd just be the issues and craziness of House, Wilson and Cuddy's life with minimal medicine stuff when relevant. Also House and Wilson would be together and kissing a lot but hey. And as much as House is my favorite and I always enjoy his hilarity, Wilson is just pure love. I am kind of in love with his voice. And RSL was oh so cute in that interview with Lisa. Saw a little bit of Clueless and Safe the other day and OMG I love House/Wilson and miss them so much. Also saw Failure to Communicate tonight and awww I love House/Stacy too. They're totally doomed but it makes it easier to ship as I can just adore their cuteness and that beautiful hotel scene. I can't help loving the shared history type couples with that past you can never go back to but that connection remains so you can't help but be drawn together.

Back in July in Montreal, I had this wonderful dream where House and Wilson were sitting against a wall (ever notice that Wilson always sits to the right of House/left to our eyes?) and Wilson was all unsure of their relationship and vulnerable and such (post S4) and House leans over and kisses him to try to reassure him with the words he can't say. It was perfect. I blame it for making me desperate to see them kiss. But I was thinking whether it'd ever be possible for me to recreate that dream with vidding. Like in the future can we get actors to be in different positions when they kiss or however you'd do it. Sounds impossible but who knows? And then I had this dream recently with House kissing Wilson on the cheek and it was all so sweet.

I'm dropping Fringe which completely bores me and True Blood where I don't like the characters and relationships because I can't get myself to care to watch them. Maybe I'll catch up with reruns later. I am watching Greek which is enjoyable especially with the great gay storyline and Freaks and Geeks which is not my kind of humor (Judd and me don't mix) but I love Lindsey and James Franco and Jason Segall are incredibly hot, plus cute geeks so I'm enjoying it. In the last week, one person on my list was converted to The Wire and another to Firefly so I'm very happy there :) I kind of want to change my mood theme to an Irina one but it's been so long having this one that I'm not sure I want to change, I just miss seeing it on my Flist. I probably will change back but maybe I will when I have the time to mess with it.

Still have no money, probably won't get hard drive for another month. I have way too many wants for the amount of money I'm making which is one big reason for college then why am I having such problems motivating myself to do well in it? Argh. And I reaaaally miss LA. First it's getting cold here and I hate it more than words can say and then I miss out on Office writers, Arrested Development events and cons in general. Wish I could go to Dallas too so I could see Doris Egan do an informal commentary on House vs. God, still my favorite episode. On the bright side, I now possess the Pushing Daisies DVDs and they are so pretty. Pie-lette is just as perfect as I remembered. I am forever charmed by that show. On my list of favorite all-time shows, PD wins over fifth place which hopefully will continue into TOMORROW, yay!

I love looking at TV ratings cause I love TV too much but if you're interested in how your shows are doing, check out TV By The Numbers. The best thing is the Renew/Cancel Index which predicts which shows will be cancelled or might be by looking at their 18-49 demographic ratings which need to be at 92% of the network's average to have a good chance at surviving. So far Til Death, Old Christine, Lipstick Jungle, Knight Rider, T:TSCC (why is this show not doing better numbers :(), Gary Unmarried, My Name is Earl, Privelled, Prison Break, The Unit, Cold Case and Ugly Betty (noooo) are in danger in order of severity. Thankfully The Office, House, Heroes, Grey's, HIMYM, Gossip Girl, Brothers & Sisters and Supernatural all seem pretty safe. I find it all so fascinating.

Take these lies and make them true [Apr. 7th, 2008|11:52 pm]

[Current Mood |romantic]

So was not having a great day today although most of it was in my head. Going to try some honest personal sharing here.

Personal Stuff )

On a happier note, sometimes I love to ship. So I'm getting addicted to Oz which somehow manages to suck me into all the storylines and yet most of all I ship a fucked up prison love story against all odds and I choose to believe and hope and damn. Sometimes, sometimes, it pays off. And just proves that a couple can start with lies and end up having the love being the truth (see Jack/Irina for more proof) if only for a moment.

Spoilers for Oz up to 308 )

This show really interests me because I've always found redemption interesting which is one of the reasons I loved Angel so much. Moral ambiguity is one of my favorite things to explore in narratives as well as well life and it gets explored greatly on the show. Plus there is Bodie and Carver from The Wire! I've also seen Ryan in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Laguerta from Dexter and Carla from Scrubs. Oh and I saw Law and Order: SVU randomly one day and recognized Kellar as the main lead character in it, Elliot I think. And McManus reminds me sooo much of McNulty.

Was reading some Jack/Irina fic last night which never fails to overwhelm me with love and happiness. Man, I can never get enough of them. I fail at having the words when it comes to them but I will try:

Jack/Irina rambling )

I'm rewatching Pushing Daisies with [livejournal.com profile] lianri and Ned and Chuck are omgsocute. If you want to do pure romance that completely charms me that is how you do it. This is a big reason why PD is one of my favorite shows. Plus Ned is sooo yummy and dreamy (his smile! *romantic sigh*). People are all so gaga over Jim Halpert but if I'm going for a nice guy type, Ned is definitely my first choice for the perfect boyfriend category.

Three more days til The Office! Must not read spoilers must not read any more spoilers. I caved and read some but it's only because I'm so desperate for more of my favorite show! It just completes something inside me and I really need new material for my love. The new episodes all sound great so I'm getting super excited.

In conclusion, shipping makes everything so much better :)

[Current Music |"Road Rage" by Catatonia]

So the other day I went to bed at 6 to try to catch up on sleep. I woke up at 1 AM. Didn't expect that. So I went on my Flist like you do and then tried to go to bed again a few hours later. Could not get to sleep. By the time it was 6 I had given up on the sleep idea and decided to make today the day where I FINALLY get caught up on my Flist. I did the same thing today. So if you're getting comments on posts from a week ago (that's how far I can go at skip 1000), that would be why. Remind me never to get so behind again. But it feels good to do so and now I don't feel so guilty. Hopefully I can keep doing it.

Tomorrow, actually today, I finally get to go to the Office convention! I am so happy. I am so in love with this show it's not even funny (but the show is!). I loved yesterday's episode times infinity. I will try to get caught up with posts next week and write about it. But this weekend I will be enjoying getting to see all the secondary cast and writers at OfficeCon in Scranton, PA. I am most looking forward to meeting Mindy and Paul as I want to tell them how much I love some of their episodes. I'm going to the Q and A cast talk on Saturday and can't wait! But most of all, I'm looking forward to being together with so many people who love The Office as much as I do. The fans are the best part usually about conventions. Already watching video clips of it is making me wish I was there NOW. It should be super fun.

Other good TV things: Pushing Daisies got picked up for a full season! Which means there WILL be a musical episode which means I am going to be a very happy person. And there's a VERY good chance the show will be at Paley which means I have a good chance of meeting Lee Pace *iz ded from the thought* GUH. Also, Stargate Atlantis got renewed for next year!

Everything that is awesome [Oct. 5th, 2007|01:51 am]

A meme that perfectly fits my mood today:

Rules are easy, just post 10 things that recently made you happy! Tag 10 people and force them to post this meme on their LJs. Do it if you have happy things to say!

1. THE OFFICE. MY SHOW!! It's back every week and it's still making me ridiculously happy and gleeful and I love ALL the characters and it's definitely my favorite show by infinity. Tonight's episode was hilarious and I loved it even more than last week with my FAMILY and the continuity and the relationships and KELLY *hearts* Can it always be Office day please?
2. There might be a Serenity movie!!! Apparently from Alan Tudyk, “They had to put [the new DVD] out because they’ve been selling out of the other one and so Universal’s like ‘So, let’s do another one’. And now… there’s now a chance there’s going to be another movie". OMG SQUEE! I mean, it's not for sure but that still makes me insanely happy that there's a chance. I'm getting the Collector's set for my birthday but I want to encourage everyone who loves Firefly/Serenity to buy it!
3. Pushing Daisies did well in the ratings! Everyone was so worried about them and now it won the time period :D I had faith because it is the only drama in the time period and seriously, the pilot is so beautiful and charming and brilliant, how could people not want to check it out? That being said, I was nervous all day and was very happy to hear it did well. Now the scary part is whether it loses any viewers next week.
4. Justin from Ugly Betty FILLS ME WITH CUTENESS! He is so adorable. And him and Marc are so awesome and make me so gleeful. And Wilhelmina is back to her awesome self. The whole show was hilarious tonight.
5. My boys from Supernatural are back! Still blah about the plot but there relationship is so cute and I adore Dean and the emo pain.
6. Grey's Anatomy is fun again! It's actually funny and there is the awesomeness of Cristina and slash that makes me happy (four instances for my favorite pairings!) and Bailey being super amazing and Meredith not being totally horrible. I prefer to ignore the bad things.
7. The Office did well in ratings on Thursday! It went up against heavy competition, yay! My show is awesome.
8. My birthday next week with a new Office episode!!! BEST present ever.
9. Mr. Bennett and Claire on Heroes continue to make me very gleeful each week. Also M cubed *hearts them*
10. Going to California in one month and a week!!!! Finally I get to go home to where I belong. With the warm weather and palm trees and entertainment capital of the world and the ocean and everything pretty much.

I need sleep. But I am happy to see my Flist full of TV squee. I have been fighting my anti-writing/procrastination nature lately and lack of sleep does not help.

Brief TV Update [Sep. 30th, 2007|01:01 am]

[Current Mood |pleased]

I've had a really crazy/busy week but I wanted to say something about TV because I had planned a post but took a 5 hour nap instead.

I LOVE TV. It completes me, it really does. Having so many of my shows premiering this week and seeing my Flist squee just reminded me of what TV adds to my life and how happy and gleeful it makes me. Plus I got to watch some of it with [livejournal.com profile] lianri which was a lot of fun. I'm still behind on seeing some premieres/second episodes but I will get to that by tomorrow hopefully. For now, short non-spoilery reactions.

How I Met Your Mother: Love it! Hilarious and hot and cute and sweet. Just the way I like it.
Chuck: I enjoyed it! Very entertaining and a great concept. Chuck is so cute.
Heroes: LOVE it! Mr. Bennett and Claire! *hearts them* Matt and Mohinder and Molly! My super cute Hiro is back :D Somehow this show turned into a character love show for me. And it was funny!
House: OMG LOVE! I still have not recovered. This is one of THE episodes that shows why I watch the show along with Act Your Age, All In, House vs. God and Safe. Lots of House hilarity, House/Wilson SQUEE and House/Cuddy love. The OT3 rules all.
Reaper: I enjoyed it! Much funnier than I thought and pretty entertaining concept.
Pushing Daises: Not on yet but I rewatched half the pre-air version and LOVED it once again. The pretty and the concept and the narrator and the cute main character and oh, everything have won me over.
Private Practice: Meh. I love LA and I love Addison but that's about it. The characters need to get better but I'll give it a few episodes.
Gossip Girl (pilot): I like the idea of it but right now it's not clicking for me. NYC is awesome and I hear the books are good so I'm giving it more time.
Dirty Sexy Money: LOVE it! Second favorite pilot of the season and I think it's awesome (the name IS the best). The characters are fun and interesting, the plot is entertaining, it's funny and it reminds me of Arrested Development which I miss a lot so this helps. Highly recommended.
Ugly Betty: Love it! It totally made me cry yet was so funny. Also, I LOVE Justin times infinity. He and Hiro are having an adorable contest and Justin is winning at the moment.
The Office: LOVED IT! My show is back and once again it's the best and makes me the happiest. I laughed throughout the entire thing and loved all my characters SO MUCH. How is this show so good? My glee is indescribably high.
Grey's Anatomy: I liked it. It's gotten better but a few of last season's problems and one new one is still dragging the show down. But I LOVED Cristina who is awesome and rules all so I'll keep watching.
Stargate Atlantis: I liked it! My Rodney love is back in full force and McShep is still super cute and are so boyfriends. Yay!

May TV never leave me again.

Gossip Girl (Wednesday, 9, Sept. 19)

The possible shows are new shows I'm still in the process of checking out and/or have seen one episode and need to see more to decide. I doubt most of them will survive but I'd like to give them a chance. I was entertained by Chuck especially with the plot so I'm already added it to my list.

If you are looking for a new show to check out this season, I definitely, definitely recommend Pushing Daisies. I fell in love with the show five minutes into the pilot and the show is simply incredibly visually pretty (lots of movement for you fellow vidders out there!) along with Lee Pace being incredibly handsome as the lead. The show is so charming and delightful and has a great concept and perfect narrator (he does the Harry Potter audio books). I also recognized Vogler from House but he looks so different that it was hard to tell. It was created by Bryan Fuller of Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me fame which both have some similarities to the show (also he co-wrote Company Man on Heroes, Company Man!!). The show has completely won me over and I'm really hoping it becomes a big hit. So watch! Pimp your friends into it!

There's nothing like watching a new episode of your favorite shows every week :)
