Vid and TV Stuff

sundancekid! It's been a pleasure having you on my Flist and I always enjoy reading your posts :)
First things first, Vividcon registration is tomorrow! They open at 12 PM EST tomorrow here and I would strongly urge anyone who wants to go to get up early, have alarms in place (you can download computer alarms if needed!) and register immediately because it's probably going to sell out really fast even ten minute fast, who knows. I can't recommend Vividcon enough for anyone who loves vids. It's SO MUCH fun. There's the Premieres show and other vidshows with both new and old vids showing, really interesting vidding panels that help for both creating and watching vids, Club Vivid with lots of fun dancing to vids and many great fans who LOVE vids and create a friendly, enthusiastic and vid positive atmosphere. I've had the time of my life both times I went and for me it's worth all the money in the world. I would urge everyone interested to go!
Late on this but just in case anyone hasn't seen, the New To Me Vid Watching Challenge has a lot of great vid recs of some vids you may not have seen before. Hopefully soon I'll compile my own big rec list I've been meaning to do.
In light of Alias, I'm curious about what people think are the best and worst TV show pilots and finales. Especially relative to the overall quality of the show as a whole. What do you think makes a good Pilot and Finale? Here's a poll if you'd like to answer and I'd love any comments if you'd like to elaborate why (without spoilers preferred).

1. The first character I fell in love with: Jack Bristow. He had me in his first scene taking down Danny hilariously so.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Sloane. He has his moments where I feel *so* much for him.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Vaughn but mostly in terms of degree.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Francie? I liked her before she went evil.
5. The character I would shag anytime: Jack...or Irina
6. The character I'd want to be like: All of the SpyFam? If forced to choose I'd have to go with...Irina. But good!Irina.
7. The character I'd slap: Probably Sloane in one of his more evil, Rambaldi obsessed moments.

IMO slashing Jack is always challenging to do believably, and Jack/Vaughn is an especially tough paring to pull off, but I've seen it done brilliantly.

Yeah I agree and I did read that post about it (really interesting!). But there's this one scene where Vaughn I think slams Jack against the wall and it was hot. And then he smiled once at him and it was cute. I don't believe in it, it's just my little secret thing I like.
