Wilson is sad and so am I.

I'm feeling so bummed tonight.

It feels like I keep adding new things to the list of things I need to do and it's all so overwhelming. And college, gah college. I'm behind of course and once you start digging yourself into a hole, it's hard to get out. And I love TV and LJ but I feel so obligated to post my thoughts on shows, in fact I want to but I get all perfectionist and don't usually have the motivation/time to go back to watch episodes and write about them the way I want to. And then I withdraw and say fuck it and it all piles on top of me until enough time goes by that I forget it.

Yesterday was a good day. Kind of. Got out of class early so was able to study for a quiz but read partly the wrong thing so it didn't go quite as well as I hoped. It's pretty easy so I'm not worried though. I LOVE my Ancient Philosophy class though, LOVE. Unfortunatlely the professor takes off for tardiness and since I was already late once because I couldn't find the place, I was speeding to get to class and I got pulled over. I was lucky and the cop let me off (probably the college excuse) but god, it freaked me out. I probably needed it though, no class is worth a speeding ticket (or TV show for that matter). Back to the class though. So first my hot professor proved that he has reeeally nice arms and now this week he proves that he's funny and laidback too. Yum. But I LOVE the material! It's so fascinating, we're doing The Republic right now and I love considering the meaning of justice and all that. I just love introspection and trying to plan the ideal world. I was arguing against censorship as I despise it passionately but it reminded me why I hate debates, I need time to think or I can't think of my arguments.

So I come back and get my wonderful night of Monday TV consisting of How I Met Your Mother (not the best episode), Heroes (always fun) and Gossip Girl (ditto and how did Chuck Bass get to be so sexy?). But mainly an email from Chapman got me all excited about working in the TV industry and that I can totally do it and be in it and DAMN I LOVE TV. But then today comes and I don't feel like working and doing work even if I have nothing to do all day. A lot of time my head is so ambitious but my actions are most decidedly not. I love planning the future, it's one of my favorite things to do but gah the follow through is hard. So often my life feels like this big mess, inside and out and filled with stuff I need to get done but don't that keep piling up.

Didn't like House tonight. One guess why. Promo > Episode. The thing that disappoints me about House is it's never going to be the show I want it to be. I hate the episodic procedural plots sooooooo much and the ducklings are all boring and I don't like them besides Kutner who is very cute. If it was up to me, it'd just be the issues and craziness of House, Wilson and Cuddy's life with minimal medicine stuff when relevant. Also House and Wilson would be together and kissing a lot but hey. And as much as House is my favorite and I always enjoy his hilarity, Wilson is just pure love. I am kind of in love with his voice. And RSL was oh so cute in that interview with Lisa. Saw a little bit of Clueless and Safe the other day and OMG I love House/Wilson and miss them so much. Also saw Failure to Communicate tonight and awww I love House/Stacy too. They're totally doomed but it makes it easier to ship as I can just adore their cuteness and that beautiful hotel scene. I can't help loving the shared history type couples with that past you can never go back to but that connection remains so you can't help but be drawn together.

Back in July in Montreal, I had this wonderful dream where House and Wilson were sitting against a wall (ever notice that Wilson always sits to the right of House/left to our eyes?) and Wilson was all unsure of their relationship and vulnerable and such (post S4) and House leans over and kisses him to try to reassure him with the words he can't say. It was perfect. I blame it for making me desperate to see them kiss. But I was thinking whether it'd ever be possible for me to recreate that dream with vidding. Like in the future can we get actors to be in different positions when they kiss or however you'd do it. Sounds impossible but who knows? And then I had this dream recently with House kissing Wilson on the cheek and it was all so sweet.

I'm dropping Fringe which completely bores me and True Blood where I don't like the characters and relationships because I can't get myself to care to watch them. Maybe I'll catch up with reruns later. I am watching Greek which is enjoyable especially with the great gay storyline and Freaks and Geeks which is not my kind of humor (Judd and me don't mix) but I love Lindsey and James Franco and Jason Segall are incredibly hot, plus cute geeks so I'm enjoying it. In the last week, one person on my list was converted to The Wire and another to Firefly so I'm very happy there :) I kind of want to change my mood theme to an Irina one but it's been so long having this one that I'm not sure I want to change, I just miss seeing it on my Flist. I probably will change back but maybe I will when I have the time to mess with it.

Still have no money, probably won't get hard drive for another month. I have way too many wants for the amount of money I'm making which is one big reason for college then why am I having such problems motivating myself to do well in it? Argh. And I reaaaally miss LA. First it's getting cold here and I hate it more than words can say and then I miss out on Office writers, Arrested Development events and cons in general. Wish I could go to Dallas too so I could see Doris Egan do an informal commentary on House vs. God, still my favorite episode. On the bright side, I now possess the Pushing Daisies DVDs and they are so pretty. Pie-lette is just as perfect as I remembered. I am forever charmed by that show. On my list of favorite all-time shows, PD wins over fifth place which hopefully will continue into TOMORROW, yay!

I love looking at TV ratings cause I love TV too much but if you're interested in how your shows are doing, check out TV By The Numbers. The best thing is the Renew/Cancel Index which predicts which shows will be cancelled or might be by looking at their 18-49 demographic ratings which need to be at 92% of the network's average to have a good chance at surviving. So far Til Death, Old Christine, Lipstick Jungle, Knight Rider, T:TSCC (why is this show not doing better numbers :(), Gary Unmarried, My Name is Earl, Privelled, Prison Break, The Unit, Cold Case and Ugly Betty (noooo) are in danger in order of severity. Thankfully The Office, House, Heroes, Grey's, HIMYM, Gossip Girl, Brothers & Sisters and Supernatural all seem pretty safe. I find it all so fascinating.

I hope you read the Phaedrus- it's Plato's take on love. (Perfect for you much?) Plato is amazing. He's one of the reasons I held onto Classics for so long (and still do, kind of, informally).

I'm with you on school. I don't have a solution, unfortunately. But there's at least some solace in knowing you're not alone.

Oh, WTF? They've only aired one new ep of The Unit so far, on a new night and at a new time, following Cold Case instead of another military show (NCIS) -- and after yanking it last *December*! It's been off for over 9 months, FFS! And that first ep, as well last season's 11 eps, totally kicked ass, too. I'll be hugely bummed if it goes.

T:TSCC kicks ass, too. Stupid Fox. I should've known better than to even watch, given their track record for killing shows I love.

*mope*

[identity profile] anoel.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Well it's not set in stone so for The Unit, I wouldn't be too worried. It's only the beginning of the season. Especially as it's on CBS and that skews older. It's close at least.

I know! Fox sucks. It's a bad time spot with it against football, they should at least move it to Wednesday. And apparently they're blaming it for Prison Break's low numbers? Which is so BS.

Didn't they switch the time slots? So now the lead-in show is to blame, not the genius programmer who made the switch? Grrrrr!

[identity profile] anoel.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah it's a stupid move. Fox puts themselves into these situations and THEN blames the show which is why I hate them so much.

Sorry, I was so busy moping, I forgot to say I'm sorry you're bummed, but glad the PD DVDs are working their magic on you.

[identity profile] anoel.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
No I understand. And thanks, those definitely do help.

[identity profile] iamcrazyodo.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, just read your post and now my previous comment (in my reply on my LJ) will sound completely silly. Sorry the new House episode wasn't to your liking. My opinion on that is that (hopefully) it can only improve. There's always going to be some episodes we don't really like, just chuck this one into that category and let's hope the next one will be fab. :) I've no idea what I've just said. Don't mind me. Sorry you're bummed but I'll keep my fingers crossed for next week's episode.

Glad you didn't get a ticket. Phew! It's good to see you're enjoying one of your classes and a challenging one at that. I'm of the opinion that any class that makes you think outside of the classroom is a good one. And if the teacher's cute... *g*

It's terribly annoying when networks keep moving shows to different times and days. That's what ruins the numbers for quite a few shows, I'm sure. I hope you don't lose any of the shows you watch.

Good for you if you can get a job in that business. Go for it! *keeps fingers crossed for that too*

*Hugs back*

It happens but next week's going to be an INFINITY times better so forget it, doesn't matter. I just look forward to the show to cheer me up. And yes, I'm so happy that I at least love one class (I like my Logic one too) and it gets me thinking in a positive way. Cuteness always helps!

Yeah, it's frustrating. I can understand one move if it makes sense though but a lot of times its just bad decisions/marketing and such.

Thanks, I hope so as well and that I find my place in it *hugs*

I still have to watch House (is downloading) so I can't comment on that. But yeah, I do like the medical plots a lot *is a dork that way* Although, you know, some House/Wilson kissing would of course make my year.

And Philosophy! Now you know why I was so desperate to get back to University :) Although I was majoring in Ethical Philosophy, so that's slightly different but god, so interesting :)

[identity profile] anoel.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I will never understand the attraction but apparently a lot of people do. I just can do with blah relationship stories so much better than blah procedural ones. You and me both!

Yeah I love Philosophy, not ethical as much (although I don't know much) but it's incredibly fascinating.

Man, I love Greek! It's just an incredibly delightful hour of television every week.

Also, that Renew/Cancel index is SUPER FASCINATING. Thanks for the link!

[identity profile] anoel.livejournal.com 2008-10-01 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a lot of fun! I need to hurry up and finish it before I get even more new episodes to watch.

I know! I love it, it's fun to analyze.

[identity profile] mozartfan1313.livejournal.com 2008-10-02 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Whoa! I totally just made a similar post on my LJ about House. I'm thinking of quitting the show. It's so bland and formulaic and I haven't loved it since season two. I want it to focus on characters, but the medicine crap always prevails. It's almost as if the writers don't realize how great a duo they have in House/Wilson. We are lucky if they have one great scene together an episode, when it should make up more of the series.

I think I'm done with it.

[identity profile] anoel.livejournal.com 2008-10-02 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
I saw that :( I agree so much though, FOCUS ON THE CHARACTERS. I think they do realize it to a degree but they try to satisfy everyone by doing everything, medicine, House funniness, all the different ships, backstories for all the characters that it all gets cluttered and not enough attention gets paid to the best stuff.

But noooo don't go! At least not the next episode which is going to be AMAZING, believe me. Much less medical plots, two big plots focus on non-med stuff plus lots of great H/W. It's mostly a manner of adjusting your expectations or only watching the good parts. Actually some day I'm planning on doing just a pure House/Wilson cut of the House series since it's my favorite so if you do quit it, you could just watch that ;)

[identity profile] mozartfan1313.livejournal.com 2008-10-02 01:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I think if the writers had a vote though, less than 10% would say they watch the show for the medical mysteries. I don't know anyone who loves that part of the show. The reason people watch is for Hugh Laurie, House/Wilson or the ducklings.

Yeah I heard about the next episode but I figured it would be like all the other House/Wilson plots...it will only end up taking up about ten minutes of screentime and the rest witll be...snore...

[identity profile] anoel.livejournal.com 2008-10-02 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure there are some people who do but not the audience Fox wants to attract aka 18-49s/34s. And mostly it's for House.

It won't! I'm pretty sure that H/W will be together a lot.
