| Tech Venting |

I am so fucking frustrated right now. So I bought an external DVD drive today (I/O magic external dvd drive, dont buy it!), one that was supposed to be able to "Watch all your favorite DVDs from your computer". Guess what? Doesn't work! It's all connected, I can see the DVD in My Computer (which sometimes doesn't respond now) and yet I can't get it to play on VLC or work in DVD Decryptor. I am so sick of buying tech crap that doesn't work and worst of all, having no idea why.
This is kind of crap that makes me want to give up vidding because I really cannot take these problems over and over and over again where I waste so much precious money on it and get barely anything in return. All I wanted today was to start burning these dvds and start clipping and now...nothing. FUCK. Just right now I have over $200 dollars of tech stuff that doesn't work. If I was rich enough I'd be throwing all this stuff across the room right now like Lex because I have just HAD it. Life was going good and then this stuff comes up. It just never ends.
To add to that, my sunburn really hurts. God, I'm so stupid. |

So was not having a great day today although most of it was in my head. Going to try some honest personal sharing here.

On a happier note, sometimes I love to ship. So I'm getting addicted to Oz which somehow manages to suck me into all the storylines and yet most of all I ship a fucked up prison love story against all odds and I choose to believe and hope and damn. Sometimes, sometimes, it pays off. And just proves that a couple can start with lies and end up having the love being the truth (see Jack/Irina for more proof) if only for a moment.

This show really interests me because I've always found redemption interesting which is one of the reasons I loved Angel so much. Moral ambiguity is one of my favorite things to explore in narratives as well as well life and it gets explored greatly on the show. Plus there is Bodie and Carver from The Wire! I've also seen Ryan in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Laguerta from Dexter and Carla from Scrubs. Oh and I saw Law and Order: SVU randomly one day and recognized Kellar as the main lead character in it, Elliot I think. And McManus reminds me sooo much of McNulty.
Was reading some Jack/Irina fic last night which never fails to overwhelm me with love and happiness. Man, I can never get enough of them. I fail at having the words when it comes to them but I will try:

If you want to do pure romance that completely charms me that is how you do it. This is a big reason why PD is one of my favorite shows. Plus Ned is sooo yummy and dreamy (his smile! *romantic sigh*). People are all so gaga over Jim Halpert but if I'm going for a nice guy type, Ned is definitely my first choice for the perfect boyfriend category.
Three more days til The Office! Must not read spoilers must not read any more spoilers. I caved and read some but it's only because I'm so desperate for more of my favorite show! It just completes something inside me and I really need new material for my love. The new episodes all sound great so I'm getting super excited.
In conclusion, shipping makes everything so much better :) |

Keyboard's not working :( Using the onscreen one. Argh, life why do you have to keep throwing sucky things my way. Going back to NY after DIY for various reasons I don't really want to talk about. I'm ok with it for now.

So of course now my sound on my laptop has stopped working. After trying every fix, I still can't get it to work. The frustrating part is I can hear a tiny bit of sound when I turn my speakers all the way up. So now I have no vids, episodes and I can't vid. Great, just fucking great.
I am so sick of this place already. |

| Computer woes |

So now my laptop has stopped working. According to the tech guys at my school, the hard drive is shot. Probably randomly. Great, just great. Not only do I have a ton to do this week, I don't have all my vids, vidding stuff, music and personal computer for internet usage. Already I can't even get Lum's vid to play :( I'm hoping I can recover the information because I stupidly don't have it backed up. The place where I bought it from is in NY so it'll probably take forever me to get it back. So I guess I'll be using the school library a lot. *sigh* This just sucks.
Some new Michael/Jan fic cheered me up and probably watching The Office will do the same but I can tell it'll be a long two weeks before the glorious month of April begins. |
