So reading poetry often inspires me to want to write some. Here's something I wrote today at work:

If I,
say,
Gave and Helped and
Praised
Would you
Acknowledge, Like, Approve
But no.

You couldn't.
How could you?
You do not see.
Or reply or want or
love
Like I do.

California: Here I come! [Aug. 20th, 2006|12:32 am]

So it's finally here, the day that I move to California. I can hardly believe it, I've waited so long for this moment and now I'm leaving. I'm just about done packing and ready to begin the next chapter in my life. I'm leaving this morning around 5 AM and I move into Chapman University in Orange, California on Tuesday. I can't wait for it to begin and I've planned this for so long that its great for it to actually be happening. But before I go, some reflection on why I hated high school, why I decided to go to college in California and why that college turned out to be Chapman University.

Going to sneak in a vid rec too. Everyone should go over and watch [livejournal.com profile] absolut3destiny's new vid, I Enjoy Being a Girl. One of my favorite vids ever with a perfect mix of Sydney Bristow, Buffy, Starbuck, Veronica Mars and Zoe being perfectly edited to the music with awesome parallels and kick ass fighting. I've been listening/watching it nonstop ever since Vividcon and it made me miss Veronica Mars and Firefly even more. It's just amazing. *am still in vidding mode*

NaNoWriMo [Nov. 9th, 2005|02:07 am]

Well I'm about a week behind, but at least I'm starting.

As it turns out, my initial story idea is too ambitious for me at this point. It was hard for me to come up with a bunch of characters and a new world. Too much planning is required when I just want to write. I got about 1,000 words done on that story before I gave up on it. I still would like to do it in the future but not now.

I have a new idea though although slightly similar. It'll definitely have a romance angle to it but it takes place here and now and allows me to have more of a space to free flow with my ideas. It's kind of a coming of age type story. So far its pretty good, I think. I like the dialogue at least. Now I just have to make up 7 days of writing for it. Thankfully I got a good days work done today and this 3 day weekend I can spend even more time on it. It's just nice to be writing again, even if I don't win, I'd like to get a lot more words down than I have for a long time.

OMG Methos!! [Nov. 1st, 2005|03:50 pm]

Wow. How did I miss this one? So apparently there's a new Highlander movie in the making and Methos ie Peter Wingfield is going to be in it. It's called Highlander: The Source (http://www.highlander-thesource.com/) and it just started filming October 17th. I soo cannot wait for next year, all this great stuff is happening. But more Methos! Yay. I didn't think I'd ever see more of him besides what I haven't seen, which coincidently, I'm watching right now. I'm working on planning a Methos pov vid right now actually and its renewing my Methos love big time (which just takes watching one scene...). Perfect timing for perfect news.

In other news I loved the last Grey's Anatomy. It didn't kill me emotionally (just haven't been in the mood for that recently) but it had its moments and it was hilarious in some parts. I still am not over Cristina's boyfriend declaration, such a cute and funny scene. I wish it was Sunday every day.

Today is also the first day of NaNoWriMo (http://www.nanowrimo.org). I'm going to try it with the story idea I have but who knows if I can get it done, my writing motivation being what it is. Deadlines do help though so we'll see. Don't want to give away too many details but basically its going to be a fantasy/sci-fi/romance epic type story. Going to try for 2,000 of the 50,000 words today.
