Thursday TV, Miscellaneous thoughts |
[Oct. 2nd, 2006|07:57 pm] |
First of all, Happy (belated) Birthdays to f1renze, jackiekjono, snoopypez, seanmegansean and trustingno1! I hope you all had a great day and have a wonderful year.
Thursdays are quickly becoming my favorite day ever with all the great TV on. So here are some of my reactions to the shows I've seen:
( Grey's Anatomy 301 )
( Grey's Anatomy 302 )
( Supernatural 201 )
All I can say is I'm thankful to have such an awesome Flist with all the great thoughts on both shows. From commiserating in Supernatural love to having good discussions about Addison, it's been fun to read and participate in. I also checked out a few episodes of The Office since it seemed like Arrested Development and I do like it. Michael is too funny, he's my favorite so far. Busy watching BSG as well, I can't believe the S3 premiere is this Friday! It's so much nicer talking about shows when they air. In other fannish news, I am so happy to get my Whose Line DVD, the day it came out. The gag reels and extra scenes were awesome and hilarious and made me adore Ryan even more. I am so thankful that I have a cash flow coming in with my new job which thankfully allows for lots of homework and surfing the computer on the side, allowing me to be able to pay for stuff and no longer feel completely like a poor college student.
In case anyone's interested, I updated my memories to list all the vid meta I could find, listed in categories to hopefully make them easier to find. I figured since I spend so much time going through all the meta, might as well make it easier to find. I also started putting some categories for vid recs but that's far from finished so many of the fandoms are not well represented with good vids. Thank you to everyone who has vid meta links in their memories along with permetaform for her Big List of Meta page, which all helped a lot. On a vid meta note, I have lots of ideas for what I want to write up...just no time right now. Sometime in the future, that's for sure.
I'm still in love with California, the warm weather glow hasn't worn off yet and each day I'm grateful for being in a place that makes me happy. I don't even mind it being cold or waking up early in the morning now because I know that it won't last long, I have warmth every day and can choose to sleep in til 11 whenever I want. It's all about choice and I love the freedom that I have here. A few weekends ago, I went to Huntington Beach at night and it was one of the most amazing experiences ever. Totally worth all the biking/busing/walking I did to get there. I love the ocean the most at night and one of my favorite things about it is that it's free, its open to the world. I wasn't even at the main beach and I could just walk in the sand and waves and feel at peace with the world. I was alone which was nice as I could freely relax and enjoy myself. I can't put into words what made me so happy about it, I'm just a nature person so it connected with me. But that's not to say I don't like cities too. I went into LA yesterday as I haven't been able to really explore the city since I've been here. I liked it, lots of things to do and see. Next time, I will definitely bring my bike on the Metrolink (which was surprisingly, quite nice) which will make it easier to get around. Next weekend: Disneyland! I can't wait. |

OMG Methos!! |
[Nov. 1st, 2005|03:50 pm] |
Wow. How did I miss this one? So apparently there's a new Highlander movie in the making and Methos ie Peter Wingfield is going to be in it. It's called Highlander: The Source (http://www.highlander-thesource.com/) and it just started filming October 17th. I soo cannot wait for next year, all this great stuff is happening. But more Methos! Yay. I didn't think I'd ever see more of him besides what I haven't seen, which coincidently, I'm watching right now. I'm working on planning a Methos pov vid right now actually and its renewing my Methos love big time (which just takes watching one scene...). Perfect timing for perfect news.
In other news I loved the last Grey's Anatomy. It didn't kill me emotionally (just haven't been in the mood for that recently) but it had its moments and it was hilarious in some parts. I still am not over Cristina's boyfriend declaration, such a cute and funny scene. I wish it was Sunday every day.
Today is also the first day of NaNoWriMo (http://www.nanowrimo.org). I'm going to try it with the story idea I have but who knows if I can get it done, my writing motivation being what it is. Deadlines do help though so we'll see. Don't want to give away too many details but basically its going to be a fantasy/sci-fi/romance epic type story. Going to try for 2,000 of the 50,000 words today. |

New Vid! Grey's Anatomy - Cristina/Burke: "Close Up" |
[Oct. 13th, 2005|11:13 pm] |
So I finally made my first video after a loong hiatus. Or at least a video that I didn't lose due to losing most of my files. This took me awhile to make but my current Grey's Anatomy C/B love propelled me on. It gave me a great excuse to watch those scenes over and over again. Without further ado, here it is:
Ship: Cristina/Burke Song Title/Band: Close Up by Frou Frou Spoilers: Grey's Anatomy episodes 104-202 Link: Close Up - 17.4 MB WMV (Right click, save as) Streaming
Notes: When I started the video I was completely obsessed with Grey's Anatomy and rewatched Cristina/Burke scenes soo many times. I just had to vid it to help release my love for them. So I searched my music collection and picked out this song because the lyrics fit and I liked the song. I think that the theme perfectly reflects Cristina's take on the relationship: she keeps getting torn between getting closer to Burke and pulling away. I tried to show her perspective on that and highlight it through the looks and actions she does. I also added a few effects to illustrate it (keyframing is the best). Overall, I think it turned out pretty well and is a good display for the love that is Cristina/Burke. Next up: I need a few weeks break but hopefully soon I'll find a good Burke point of view vid. Also looking to make a vid about the pregnancy and a friendship vid for the whole crew.

Life is good. |
[Oct. 10th, 2005|03:16 am] |
I just had the best day today. First of all, there's no school tomorrow so it feels less like a Sunday and I know I can sleep in tomorrow. Second, I got some awesome emails from friends. Third, my favorite show, Grey's Anatomy was on and it was the best episode yet. It included some amazing Cristina/Burke scenes (my favorite couple of course) and made me love all the characters and ships more. Fourth, I had some good talks with friends and converted my friend to watch the show so now we can squee together. Fifth, I got some great early birthday gifts. One more day! :D Sixth, I had free time all day to vid and I got a lot of it done. And finally, I listened to some of my favorite music that makes me ridiculously happy.

Cool Music Rec Site |
[Oct. 1st, 2005|07:44 pm] |
So in my quest to find some good music to use for vids, I made a great discovery. There was a project called the Music Genome Project that looked to identify all the different kinds of things in music and how they relate to each other by tracking a ton of songs that have been made. They have a database of them and it allows people to enter in a song and get more songs that have musical similarities between them. It plays each song and you can say if you like it or not, if not it'll delete it and give you something else. The first 10 hours are free to listen to, I'm actually thinking of paying the 36 dollars a year it is after that, maybe getting it for my birthday/christmas because its exactly what I need. I want to have more music vareity but I hate downloading lots of music that I don't like that eats up my hard drive. And I desparately need songs for vids. I'd check it out, it's working well for me. I like a lot of the songs, no favorites so far but I'm sure I'll find some good ones. The site's at http://www.pandora.com
In other news, I'm obsessed with Burke/Cristina from Grey's Anatomy. Rewatching their moments together is so addictive and I'm trying to find as much stuff as I can about them. Cannot wait for tomorrow, I'm just dying for it. The bad thing about loving a Sunday tv show is you have to look forward to the end of a weekend which is the furthest thing from what I want. Oh well. It's just too good. |
