So I fell in love with Orange is the New Black back in July and was super happy to find a new OTP with Piper/Alex. I needed a way to express all my feels for the ship and while listening to this song, realized it was perfect for them. I had so much fun getting to go through all of their scenes again and wanted to make a vid that would put all the happy clips together to give me a pick me up whenever I watched it. I was a little worried about not having a enough happy clips but it turns out I was fine :) Mostly I had a good time making it and I was happy to have a chance to premiere it at Wincon where it seemed to get a good reaction.

So Nicky was an awesome person to buy me who gave me a list of vids to make and I told her all the ones I'd like to do. This was the one she wanted out of the ones I liked and I was very excited to make it as I was hoping to have a chance to rewatch a show I hadn't seen before and I saw The OC when I was in high school before I came to live in the OC and LA so I caught a lot more references this time. I fell in love with Ryan and Ryan/Seth all over again and remembered why I used to ship them so hard. It gave me a chance to read some fic for them too! I loved the song choice for this as it was fun to vid Ryan's EPIC MANPAIN. It was good to vid different aspects of his character and storyline as well as the slash although rewatching four seasons took forever as I started way too late. The vidding process was fairly easy thank god as it was mostly linearly vidded and I was able to come up with the structure pretty fast. While the later seasons weren't as good, man that finale made me cry and it was great to vid it. I was very happy with Nicky's response to the vid and was happy to make a few changes for her that made the vid better. I'm glad I had such a good time (for the most part) for my first VVC auction vid!

So this vid was about 90% made in August and September 2010 after I came home from Vividcon and was super inspired to vid. The song was obviously the kids for me and I looove Kanye so I was excited to get a chance to vid him and a rap song. Making this vid was one of the most emotional vid processes ever as I rewatched S4, cried a lot and then clipped S4, cried a lot and then laid clips down and cried some more. That season and plotline was my favorite and I wanted to show the failure of the institutions and people to save them no matter how they tried as that was the most frustrating part of it all. Both killabeez and elynross were kind enough to give me some beta for the vid but they suggested some changing to the ending which was hard to hear for me since I had the vision of the vid for awhile. I took a break from the vid and eventually got distracted by Festivids and then lost all my Wire files. In any case, I still had the project file and when my other Challenge ideas didn't work out and I had limited time, I figured this would be a good vid for many of the themes with my first being Fuck You, then IDIC and Transformation. I replaced some clips from earlier seasons and filled in a few black spots and was able to get this vid in for Challenge. I'm mostly happy with it although it's weird having made most of it awhile ago. I'm just glad to finally have finished it and have released my first (emphasis on first) Wire vid!

So this is the vid I started after I fell in love with Regina/Emma and OUAT back in September 2012. I heard this song and thought it was beautiful and the lyrics fit Regina so much. Even though the song is less emotional than my usual choice, I was excited to get a chance to focus more on aesthetics and work on fading clips together more like bradcpu does which I've wanted to do for awhile. I set down some clips in the fall and had fun vidding it without a deadline. Of course then the OUAT exchange and Festivids happened so I stopped working on it and then OUAT annoyed me and took away my precious Swan Queen and I was not feeling like finishing it. But the S2 finale was super, super shippy for them and re-energized me so when my Premieres idea didn't work out and I ended up having less time than I expected, I thought finishing this would be a great vid to submit for Premieres. I didn't have as much time as I hoped as I spent most of it on my Auction vid but I'm glad I got to practice a different style than my usual and I'm really happy with some of the things I did in this. I still would like to get a good beta and improve the vid but not sure when/if that will happen.

So I first heard this song on a Songza playlist before it became popular on the radio (really!) and I realize it's a perfect expression of my love for Glee. It gave me a great oppurtunity to vid the dancing scenes again and work on vidding faster than I usually do plus I really wanted to dance to it at Club Vivid. I had fun listening and watching all my favorite songs again although clipping took forever (perfectionist here) and general life upheaval made it take a lot longer than I wanted so I had to cut the song done especially when I realized I had less meta stuff to say about the show. I was happy to be able to put a little bit of the love the fans including I have for the show as well as focus on one of my favorite parts, the gay. I wish I had more time and space to put all my favorite dance scenes in this but it was good to put some of it in there.

Well it's been a long time coming for this one. Basically in the days before Vividcon 2012 I marathoned Homeland in a day and fell in love with it. In the airport going to Vividcon, I heard this song and instantly realized it was the Carrie vidsong I was waiting for. The song is one of my favorite songs from Florence for the emotion and dynamics within it and I connected with it physically for how perfect it was for Carrie. I was so inspired, I started vidding the middle section during Vividcon. When Homeland S2 came back, it inspired me to keep vidding the song but I got sidetracked by my Swan Queen love and then Festivids. I started working on it again after Festivids but didn't end up finishing until before the VidUKon deadline. It was really great to work with a song with so much speed changes and get to vid something a little different from what I usually do. Especially fun is it's for one of my favorite characters ever, I had so much fun falling in love with Carrie all over again with this video.

So this was all made because I was in love with this show and at the same time as I was, freaking Glee played an 'N Sync song (well mashup) which made me listen to 'N Sync's first album which led me to find this song which was a perfect match for Michelle/Sasha. I really love their relationship on the show and although it's mostly gen for me, they certainly flirt enough that I can take it to a more femslashy place so go with whatever you like here. I vidded this in a week or two, mainly because I wanted to have a vid to show ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif) beerbad who helped convince me to catch up on this show. It reminded me that sometimes it's fun to just let go of deadlines and vid out your heart.

| New vid: Circle of Life (Game of Thrones) |

So back in July last year, I somehow got it into my head to set Disney songs to Game of Thrones. To my shock...they totally fit most of the time. After thinking up lots of songs and getting vid ideas to the show, I somehow decided it would be a good idea to just vid them all. Because I love my serious Game of Thrones vids but sometimes I just want to make some fun vids for my show. So I started vidding Circle of Life as an overview of the beginning of the show and while watching Disney movies in preparation, I realized the opening Circle of Life scene has SO MANY similarities to the show which made it extra fun. Of course because I'm in love with the show, I still take it pretty sincerely in a, my heart is full of love for all of them way, but I understand a laughing reaction as well. I vidded most of this during the summer and a little during the fall and it was 90% done around there so when Festivids took over my life, I decided it would be my Escapade premiere. Plus I really wanted to see all the pretty landscape shots on the big screen so I was looking forward to that. I intend to make this a Disney set to Game of Thrones series which I call, You Win or You Sing but it'll take me 10+ years while waiting for all the footage.

So I really wanted to make a Kaldrick vid and jarrow really wanted a Kaldrick vid so this was the perfect Festivids fit. Except I needed to find a song. I wanted to find a hip hop song or a Frank Ocean mashup to a hip hop song but I couldn't find anything. So I was listening to some music on my iPhone when I heard Beautiful in LA which I immediately pegged as a LA Complex vidsong. Upon repeated listening, I realized it actually fit perfectly for Kaldrick even if the music wasn't quite *him*. I put off listening to the song once I got my assignment because I wanted to vid it so much but after golive and vidchat, I was inspired and started working on making it as a treat even if I was unsure about time. Thankfully it vidded itself and most of it was done in vidfarr. It was SO much fun to vid the LA shots (which combined with the song seemed a dead giveaway guesswise) Kaaaaldrick and his feeelings.

So I never get matched up with the people I expect for Festivids so I was all, well there's no way I'll get matched up with Eli...so I get matched up with Eli. YEP ELI WAS MY ASSIGNMENT! I wake up Festivids morning to elipie's text that assignments were out and I check mine to see that mine was elipie. OF COURSE. I burst out laughing cause I did not see it coming and had no prepared assignment. Thus began a Festivid full of LIES. So I basically couldn't work on my actual assignment on the many weekends I vidded together with elipie (and sometimes rhoboat). I got matched on Breaking Bad and I had two ideas for that, both to pop songs and one to One Direction. I had a lot of it clipped so I figured it wouldn't be too hard. I started trying to vid it...nothing. I just was not feeling it. So I started looking at some of the other sources, all of which I could possibly do. I even had vague notions of pulling a franzeska and vidding ALL of the sources. Haha no, I'm not that crazy and I didn't have the time. Now hanging out with Eli taught me two things: she REALLY expected a Breaking Bad vid and she reeeally wanted a Boy Meets World vid and she DID NOT EXPECT IT AT ALL. Me: Challenge Accepted.
So I saw a few episodes of Boy Meets World in my youth and liked it but hadn't seen it in forever. When I watched it in high school, I remembered slashing Cory/Shawn (and Eric/Jack but less) so if the vid was for me, that's what I would be making (and in watching this, let me just say: THEY ARE SUCH BOYFRIENDS!!!! OMG). But Eli wanted: Oh my god, TOPANGA. TOPANGA/COREY. TOPANGA/STUDIES. TOPANGA/LIFE. I just love her to death. I would basically either really like a character study of her or a vid kind of telling the story of her relationship with Corey (which I know is daunting, but if not during Festivids, when else can I beg for something like this to be made for me?). So I decided to do both because I do aim to please :) I found a song, Curiosity by Carly Rae Jepsen which pinged me for Topanga and I thought would be perfect for a Topanga/Studies vid...until I kept listening to it and I realized that this vid wanted to be a Topanga/Cory vid too. Okay then. Also with the announcement of Girl Meets World, I figured I had to watch it all so I could check out the show and really understand the history of it. If not now, then I'd probably never do it.
I started watching the show and realized clipping it was going to be a very long process. I may have...not started doing it til the second week of December (thanks in part to the OUAT exchange) which turned out not to be the best decision although in my defense I was still set on doing Breaking Bad until then. It was a lot of fun to watch the show and see the growth of the characters and start having feels for all of them (Eric is KING of Surprise!Crying FEELS with a side of Issues!Shawn). The show does have its problems (heteronormativity, gender role issues and the like) but it was still very cute. Topanga turned out to be much awesomer than I remembered although there was not nearly as much clips of Topanga/Books as I had hoped. And I had fun squeeing about Cory/Shawn's BOYFRIEND love. Even Topanga/Cory managed to win me over with the cuteness especially in those last clips in the short version of this vid. Which yeah, I was only able to finish about three seasons of clipping and vidding and 2 minutes of the song before the deadline especially with my pretend assignment taking a lot of my time. But I was hoping to replace the vid with the full version during the treat time...which did not happen thanks to tech problems and vid farr on another treat.
So then I promised myself I would make the full thing during the time between golive and reveals. It took me 5 days to start but I finally got around to finishing it. I already had S4 clipped so that meant watching the last episodes of S5 and then watching S6 and S7. Not too hard, I told myself...with work, relaxing on the weekend and slow vidding, it came down to the last few days. Basically I watched S6 and S7 in the last three days, taking the bus to work so I could watch more and taking clip notes to make clipping easier and fast. The vidding actually came along pretty easy although I struggled with my usual problem of trying to shove ALL the clips on the timeline and not giving them some room to breathe. Still working on that. But I did manage to watch all seven seasons of Boy Meets World and make a Topanga vid of it so I'm ultimately happy with this Festivids.
So here are both versions of Curiosity, GoLive and Reveals day. I hope it was a fun nostalgic trip through memory lane :) And P.S: if you want to be reminded about Boy Meets World without watching seven seasons, try the last two episodes as there's some clip show mixed in with a lot of great clips (ALSO FEELS). Also LYING TO YOUR VIDDING BUDDY IS TERRIBLE AND I HATE IT! It was haaaaard especially a big secret like that. Thanks to my roomies for putting up with me talking about it because they were the only people I told in the interest of super secret keeping.

So I'm still working on my Carrie vid but after the last episode, I was having ALL THE FEELS so I had to make this to let them out. I heard this song while driving to work and it amazed me how perfect it was for them even if it has other personal meaning for me. I made this in three days amazing enough although some of the clipping I had already done. If you haven't seen S2/205 or intend to watch Homeland, I would not recommend watching this vid as it's very spoilery. It's mostly a dedication to Homeland 205 as the episode blew me away with all the layers. I think I cried the most I've ever cried making a vid actually but it helped a lot in letting out all my feelings. If you haven't seen this show, watch it because it's one of the best I've seen!

| New Vid: Forever Yours |

So I made this vid for me. I wanted to share it with everyone but I definitely vidded my id here. I first thought of this three years ago after S5 when I was in love with House/Wilson and kept hearing songs on the radio that reminded me of them that House would totally make fun of. And yet he would actually sincerely believe them to be true. Or perhaps that's the 12 year old hardcore shipper in me talking. In any case, each song represented a special part of their relationship for me but didn't interest me enough to make an entire vid so I decided to shorten them all and put together a concept to bring them all together. Of course clipping the vid (with 5 seasons) took a long time and I eventually didn't finish in time for Premieres.
Flash forward to last May when I had stopped watching House halfway through S6 and decided to watch the series finale just to see what House/Wilson we'd get...and yeah, after that I had to finish this vid for Premieres this year because if I didn't I'd never get this vid done and I've always regretted not finishing it. Now I'm glad I didn't (because of the extra perfect clips I got) even if it took me FOREVER to clip 8 seasons and I felt completely rushed getting it done. Plus I had some massive tech trouble in the middle of it which is never fun. It didn't turn out quite as funny as I saw in my head but in the end I just believe in them too sincerely to go too far into funny (at least at the moment). So this is my Lord King Bad Vid turned pouring my heart and soul out into an epic vid about my favorite slash pairing of all time.

So if you haven't heard by now, I LOVE Game of Thrones. All it took was reading the books and watching S2 and I started having major Arya Stark feelings. The kind of feels that make her your number one female character of all time, so much love. In order to keep myself from endlessly reblogging Arya fanart on Tumblr and annoying all my friends talking about how ARYA IS THE BEST, I made this vid which successfully allowed me to release all my emotions. It originated when I saw a post on Tumblr with lots of gifs of Arya and Ned which melted my heart and made me realize all she wants now is to go hooome. So I started looking for a song that had a "trying to find my way back home" theme which reminded me of "Dead and Gone" by T.I. which led me looking to find a cover which I found on Youtube. It was a little slower than I was going for at first but I really loved being able to vid the more emotional part of her storyline. This vid makes even me cry (especially the Jon Snow parts) and I just identify with Arya way, way too much (I'm okay with that). It was SO hard to keep this a secret for Challenge but I'm glad I did! I've never had a more emotional vidwatching experience than that.

| New vid: Like a G6 |

Here is the first of my Vividcon vids. This one was unusual for me in that I had the song first and looked for the fandom and idea since I really wanted to dance (drunk) to this song at Club Vivid. I went through my list of fandoms and found Breaking Bad-which fit surprisingly well lyrics well and then a certain lyric bridge match captured my heart and I knew I had to vid this. Originally I had something a little more visually stunning but the narrative took a hold of me and it turned out a little bit different than what I originally envisioned. Mostly I really enjoyed rewatching the series (omg so amazing) and vidding Walt and Jesse who I grew to love even more over the course of the vid.

So I originally started this vid back in December 2010 but I had to stop working on it and finish my festivid so it's been on hold until now. In making this vid, I fell even more in love with the movie and how beautiful the narrative is with everything being connected. While I classify this as Mark/Eduardo, it is also kind of an overview of the movie and a character study of Mark as well. I'd be very interested to hear what message people got from the vid as I tried to make it clear but I'm not sure if I succeeded especially to people who haven't seen the movie.

So this video resulted from the super shippy episode, Original Song that finally motivated me to make a Kurt/Blaine vid as I've been completely in love with them since I met Blaine. I hope one lyric is taken particularly as a meta statement...It was so much fun to vid it on a shipper high!

Here is the second vid I made for ![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png) festivids this year. I really wanted to make a Huge vid that might recruit some more people to try the show or at least see a little of it's awesomeness and I hope this vid might convert a few people. When I first started watching the show, I thought Will would be my favorite character-and she was for awhile. But then it became Becca who reminds me so much of myself at least back when I was 9-12 or so. So I had to make a vid for her and thankfully found the perfect song through Genius on my iPod that captured exactly what I wanted to show.

This is the vid I made immediately following my Premieres vid for Vividcon. It was so nice to not have a deadline, to hear a song on the radio that I want to vid and just make it. It took me a little too long to figure out that it would work for Kurt/Puck but then it fit perfectly and gave me a chance to vid them. This vid is why I love them together even if there aren't a ton of canon scenes and I hope shows some of the reasons the ship is so popular in fandom. This vid is part two in the Kurt series.

Here is my Club Vivid vid that I made for Vividcon 2010. There are small changes from the DVD version that was shown at VVC namely the credits (which took me an annoyingly long time today) and a couple clip additions/substitutions that were really bothering me. Considering I listened to almost nothing but Glee and Adam Lambert last fall and throughout much of this year, I consider this vid extremely appropriate to myself. It's basically almost everything I love about my show and it was so much fun to vid it.

Here is my Premieres vid that I made for Vividcon 2010. I had a different idea in mind but that was going to take too long so I thought I'd try to make a different fun vid to share the Kurt and Glee love. I think it turned out well and I didn't get too nervous at Premieres so I'm happy. This is part one in the Kurt series of vids I'm making with more coming soon.

Here is my vid I made for Festivids. I was excited to get my assignment because even though I added Glee to my source list on a whim, it's GLEE. My favorite fandom and my recipient wanted Will/Finn who I love and wanted to do a vid for anyway. So it all worked out perfectly. I didn't realize until I started clipping them how much they touch and how *in love* they are. So it was fun to do, hardships aside.

| New Vid! Queer as Folk - Ensemble: Just Dance |

So this is my vid that premiered at Club Vivid 2009. I wanted to do a Queer as Folk dancing ensemble vid for two years now to actually utilize all the great dancing clips (that aren't Brian/Justin) for Club Vivid. Last year I finally found the right song for it and so I managed to get it finished although I cut out some parts. I'm working on an extended version though of the whole thing that should be done soon. I hoped it'd be the perfect vid for Club Vivid as it's full of dancing, drinking, motion and lots of gayness. It was a bitch to clip but so worth it in the end.

Happy Valentine's Day! So I'm a bit late but I have an excuse! I've spent practically the entire day working on a spur of the moment vid. And it's true, vidding really does help calm down obsessions. I'm calm now even though a new episode of The Office is airing tomorrow (YAY). So I love this song and it's reminded me of Michael/Jan for awhile now (originally B/J but works for both) and since I wanted to make a little V-Day gift, here it is. Watching this vid just makes my heart fill with squee for Michael/Jan and I hope it's enjoyed :)

I know lots of people oppose Valentine's Day but I can't help but enjoy it. I believe in love and I like having a holiday to promote it. Not just romantic love but all kinds of love. I want to thank each and every person on my Flist for being so awesome and wonderful and making me love each day a little (and many times a lot) more. Also a lot of love goes out to the California beautiful, sunny 60-80 degree weather which I appreciate SO much more knowing NY and other places are getting so much snow. It feels like I've been working on this vid forever. Started it in May 2005 with WMM, lost it all when my computer files got erased, remade it only to have it get messed up in Premiere, remade it again and then finally remastered it with DVD footage. And yet I still love it and it's always been the vid that comes out almost exactly how I saw it inside my head.

I found the first video that I ever made, Walk Away. I had never heard of fanvideos and then I found Cindy's (http://www.unexpected-fate.net/lovestories/) Lex/Lana videos and I was amazed. I just had to try one of my own and after finding a couple good video resources (the Anime Music Video guides, bonibaru's guide and Lynn's guide), I started working on one in the fall of 2002. It took me hours to do and being a perfectionist, I kept correcting things until I liked it. It was finally finished in January 2003 and I was very happy to get a lot of good comments on it. Anyways, here's the info on it:

So I finally made my first video after a loong hiatus. Or at least a video that I didn't lose due to losing most of my files. This took me awhile to make but my current Grey's Anatomy C/B love propelled me on. It gave me a great excuse to watch those scenes over and over again. Without further ado, here it is:

Notes: When I started the video I was completely obsessed with Grey's Anatomy and rewatched Cristina/Burke scenes soo many times. I just had to vid it to help release my love for them. So I searched my music collection and picked out this song because the lyrics fit and I liked the song. I think that the theme perfectly reflects Cristina's take on the relationship: she keeps getting torn between getting closer to Burke and pulling away. I tried to show her perspective on that and highlight it through the looks and actions she does. I also added a few effects to illustrate it (keyframing is the best). Overall, I think it turned out pretty well and is a good display for the love that is Cristina/Burke. Next up: I need a few weeks break but hopefully soon I'll find a good Burke point of view vid. Also looking to make a vid about the pregnancy and a friendship vid for the whole crew.
