[Current Music |"22" by Taylor Swift]

So I finally have time and the inclination to post here about some of the things I've been up to. The time thing is mostly because I'm not working at my job anymore. It wasn't working out on either end and I'm really looking forward to finding an in person, salaried job at a good company that can actually pay me decently. I was really overwhelmed at first in terms of looking for a job and sometimes still am but I'm feeling better about it now. It seems that the last year of networking I've been doing in the LA tech scene is starting to pay off as I now have a lot of people I can reach out for help and who have offered to help. There's a job I reeeeally want and I'm kind of terrified of being rejected from it but I'm getting better at feeling like if it doesn't happen, it'll all work out along a different great path. And happy coincidences like a job fair this weekend is extra awesome. I am ever so grateful to be in a field where there's high demand for my skills, it makes it a lot less stressful than it would for me.

Last weekend was a lot of fun! I went to Once Upon a Time Paley Fest with [personal profile] elipie and [personal profile] rhoboat and it turned my feelings of the show to mostly anger to full of FEELS! I still have major issues with what the show is doing (not enough gay, stupid blood > adoption family stuff, Regina's misery as a plot devise) but at a certain point I can let go of expectations and just enjoy the things I love mostly REGINA omg how does Lana Parilla exist? She's hot onscreen but in person she is an absolute goddess not to mention hilarious, adorable and kind. Of course we sat behind some of the most dedicated fans of Lana and Regina so it was good for me to have other people to cheer with and Lana kept LOOKING at us and giving smiles of encouragement and the Evil Regal sign and I seriously felt like I was going to melt with squee. At the end, I managed to crawl over the seats to get close enough to Lana to get her autograph and try to shout things up at her. I hope in the future to get another chance to actually talk to her. I got pretty close to JMo but she left so I talked with Jane Espenson and put in my plug for an actual gay fairytale couple on the show (and happiness for Regina). We'll see what happens...I also connected with one of the fans in front of me in the hope of finding in person Swan Queen fans and a couple of her friends were! So that's encouraging to not feel so alone in it.

Job hunting does make it hard to find time to vid so that's a problem as there's like 5 vids I'm trying to get done in the next two months. One of them is an epic Game of Thrones vid that's gotten me headfirst back into Game of Thrones love, just in time for S3 coming in 23 days eeee! I'm just worried about getting it finished along with two other vids before the April Vividcon deadline. I've also volunteered for Vividcon auction with an insane amount of fandoms so I'm looking forward to doing that for the first time. Reeeally can't wait to go to VVC! There's nothing like hanging out with vidfans. I did go to Escapade a couple weeks ago and that was wonderful! I met some awesome new people as well as got a chance to talk to friends from past years. The vidshow and vid panels and vid review were all wonderful as well and gave me a small taste of Vividcon.

On a dream come true note, I'm so happy about the news that Whose Line is coming back with the original cast! RYAN AND COLIN TOGETHER ON MY SCREEN AGAIN! This show seriously saved me from senioritis back in high school in 2006 and I've wanted a revival to happen for the last 7 years. It's my biggest RPF ship and getting new Ryan/Colin slash with the original games will be wonderful. I've also been loving Parks & Recreation which has been wonderful the last few episodes (except for the Ann plot ughh don't get me started). Unfortunately Glee has been frustrating me more and more with the bad song choices, plots I don't like and not getting me to a emotional place like it used to do. I knew my love for the show wouldn't last forever but it's still disappointing. At least it's no less gay and I'm still loooving Kurt/Blaine, Santana/Britney, Kurt/Adam and Santana/Quinn not to mention Unique <3 The Big Bang Theory has been funnier lately but it's been driving me CRAZY with the increased amounts of sexism. I'm so glad they added more female geek characters but it doesn't make up for that. On the new shows front, I have been convinced by [personal profile] beerbad to keep watching Bunheads which has gotten a lot better over the last few episodes and feels more like Gilmore Girls now along with Parenthood which I'm starting to like a lot more after the first few episodes.

Happy International Women's Day! I went to a Women in Engineering event last night and it was so much fun to be surrounded by women mostly involved in computer science all together. I had drinks with a group of women trying to help other women learn Ruby/Ruby on Rails and it was great to feel like part of a community that's trying to help solve a frustrating lack of diversity problem. It's a slow process but hopefully it can only get better from here. And I'm so thankful to be in fandom surrounded by so many amazing women (and awesome guys) all supporting each other and being creative. I am ever so thankful I found this wonderful place :)

[Current Mood |happy]

So I'm in San Francisco! I was planning on taking the PCH yesterday but due to some setbacks, I decided to take the shortest route since I was leaving late. Did not turn out to be the greatest day but I'm happy now that I'm here. I'm staying in the Union Square area and I love it! So many great stores, buildings and culture. I love all the people and just the excitement in this kind of city atmosphere. I went to the place where I'll be learning/working and it looks really cool! Saw some presentations on web design which was interesting. I will say I thought parking was bad in Downtown LA/West Hollywood/Santa Monica but it is NOTHING compared to this area of San Francisco. The rates are ridiculous.

On the way back, I decided to take a different street than the normal route to see some different sights. I look up and see an ad for Whose Live and smile a little at seeing Ryan and the guys. I turn the corner and see a sign that says Drew Carey's Improv-a-ganza is performing...(check my iPhone for the date) TONIGHT. So yeah, I bought the last remaining ticket in the good section for a decent price and I'm going to see Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Chip Esten, Jeff Davis and Drew Carey tonight. So excited! I miss the show and hearing about my friends on the East Coast getting to see it made me sad I wouldn't get to see it with them so this helps a little. Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet them again :) If only Colin was there....hee. On that note, I do have a new Ryan/Colin vid idea I'd really love to do this year. Probably going to be a long process so maybe this will inspire me to start working on clipping the crazy amounts of source there is. It just boggles my mind that if I hadn't walked that road tonight I would never be going to the show.

Fandom-wise I am WAY behind on watching Festivids (due to vidding and RL). However I got lucky this year and got two great vids! One is a Wire vid for OMAR!!! So beyond my wildest dreams. The vid is called Soul Survivor and it's a great character study with a lot of wonderful clip-lyric matches that broke my heart. Omar = awesome. I also got an Entourage vid for the boys! It's a cute and fun vid, I Get Knocked Down set to one of my favorite songs. I'm only going to rec one vid but it's my favorite vid of the ones not made for me and it's PERFECT. It's called Fly and it's a Parks and Rec vid for Leslie Knope. And WOW does it do her justice. The song is PERFECT for her (and has finally gotten me to like Nicki Minaj which I now wholeheartedly do) and the vid made me cry-the happy tears. It shows how hard she works as well as showing her fun, lighthearted side. It's hard to find words for it-it's that kind of vid and also the kind I watched like 100 times. Go watch it and you'll see why you should watch the show! There's almost 200 vids at Festivids for lots of rare fandoms so go check out the masterlist and check them out <a href="http://fv-poster.dreamwidth.org/116381.html</a>here</a>. I made two vids so go ahead and try to guess me although I'm swamped with vids to make so I can't make any prizes for guessing this year. Other than that, still watching some TV shows and movies when I can. The latest episode of Parks & Recreation was AMAZING and gives another reason why this is the best show on TV right now (yeah, I said it). I will never understand how this show can make me roar with laughter and yet have the sweetest and most heart filled moments. I just love all the characters SO MUCH. Also glad 30 Rock is back and love The Big Bang Theory which has gotten funnier the last few episodes (although I still hate Leonard/Penny). Glad Glee is back although it needs to stop these two week hiatuses. Super excited about a certain guest star coming on the show! Also been watching Miranda (for a festivid) and I love it! It took a little while to get used to with the whole talking to the camera and physical humor but I love all the characters and it makes me laugh/smile so I'm enjoying it. I love Miranda, I love that she's so honest about who she is and just has fun with life. It's great. Gary is also SUPER cute and I totally ship Miranda/Gary especially after the last episode in S1 which made me cry a bit. The physical humor is still a bit much for me but it's a cute show. Need to get ready for the show now but I'm excited about the adventure to come. I'm already getting to know all the streets around here VERY well.

[Current Mood |ecstatic]

GLEE GLEE GLEE! EEEEEEEEEEEEE. Now this is what I'm talking about.

Spoilers for Glee 218 )

Glee/Ashley = Happiness, still in effect. So glad for good TV although I've been so busy on the weekdays that it's been hard to enjoy it while then I end up with not enough TV on the weekends. Gah. Hoping to make it through the many Doctor Who AND Community posts on my Flist without needing to take an LJ break but I think I'll be fine, the disconnect can just be tough sometimes. Also Improvaganza has been frustrating with the lack of Colin :( Sorry but Ryan/Colin is a LOT of my reason for watching and squeeing madly so it just disappoints me a lot. It has been making me reread a lot of my favorite fic and I'm feeling reeeally inspired vidwise. So hopefully I'll FINALLY make something for Ry/Col at some point. Which will be good as I'm not going to be able to finish my Club Vivid vid. Work has just been too crazy and I've been feeling really uninspired. IDK I just want to vid whatever I want to vid, no deadlines. Hopefully I'll have something for Premieres though.

Life is...going. Work is great but busy and kind of crazy right now with a ton of stuff going on. Excited about tomorrow though, one hectic day yesterday and a trip to Santa Monica later and I now have my outfit all ready. Been feeling kind of lonely but I'm trying to deal with it and stay focused on other stuff. It's been kind of roller coaster-y lately but I'm trying to stay focused on the good. This day had a lot of it so that's something. Here's to tomorrow being AWESOME. Much like Kurt :)

Now THAT is MY show. Holy crap, it was like they made the episode for me. Also shipping everyone/everyone FTW!

Insta-Reaction to Glee 118 )

Anyways, my trip was amazing. I am way too behind/tired to do a recap now but I had a ton of fun. And the Whose Live show was as hilariously and insanely slashy as it always is. I am currently waaaay behind on sleep as I got 3 hours on the way to NYC and then 2 hours the last night before I left. And I worked today and the next three days so I have little time to really catch up. Finished my Club Vivid vid so I'm glad that's over with. Now for the Premiere gahhh. Also had my first group workout with my trainer on Monday and FUCK it was intense. I honestly thought I was going to die or collapse during half of it. The cool thing about it is it shows you that the limits your mind says, I can't do this or there is no way I can hold a wall sit for this long, is TOTALLY bullshit. And there's nothing like a threat of 30 more pushups to get you to do it. The guy's not Jillian but he is pretty awesome.

Star alert: this 12 year old boy did this amaaaazing cover Paparazzi by Lady GaGa (he's a big fan, bonus points). He has an beautiful voice, full of emotion and he plays the piano really, really well doing his own thing with it. He writes original songs too, check out the other videos. I can totally see him getting a record deal in the future not to mention possibly doing a show like Glee if he can act at all. He reminds me of Kris Allen actually in terms of the beautiful emotional song in a Ain't No Sunshine way. I looove it, it'd totally be on repeat if I didn't have my Glee songs right now.

So I'm leaving for NYC, New Jersey and Delaware (not in the same day) tonight. Hopefully it'll be a fun trip, looking forward to seeing Ryan and the gang as well as friends of course. Going to stay away from LJ/DW if I can help it, I think I need a break from it all.

Briefly, TV. Glee is continually too awesome to put into words. Nurse Jackie continues to be amaaaazing. Zoe is pure love ♥ Loving Marshall and Tara (and Lionel) as usual on United States of Tara. Sheldon continues to rule The Big Bang Theory. Barney/Robin makes me sad now (although I continue to ship them). Modern Family is love but I'm starting to be dying for a Cam/Mitchell kiss as it is becoming a Thing sadly.

And that's all I have time for now. Call my cell if you need me.

Happy New Year everyone! Kinda late, yes but I hope the first month of everyone's year is going well. Just a reminder that January 15th is More Joy Day basically where you spread some joy around by doing something nice anyway you can. For example, while getting drinks for New Years, I forgot my money and some kind stranger paid it for me. I was really touched and it brightened my night not to mention sticking with me even now. People can just be so wonderful. So now it's time to spread it through fandom!

It's Vividcon season YAY! Go here for details but the most important is that registration is at midnight Eastern US time, between Saturday February 28 and Sunday March 1. There's a poll there too to vote for the date. I so cannot wait.

I have a new show! I am massively in love with Beautiful People, a UK show about the life of Simon Doonan (Barneys Creative Director) who I fell for when watching Top Design. It's hilarious, full of joy and fashion and musical theatre and family love and craziness. I just adore it to death. And the older Simon is SO hot and has he and his boyfriend (in the prologue/epilogues) are so cute. Simon and Kylie are my absolute favorites, their friendship is so wonderful. Only six episodes but I savored every episode and love it completely. Definitely worth a try!

Speaking of British TV- Re: Doctor Who Casting Spoilers Under the Cut reaction just in case-also spoilers from the special )

Yay Philly winning! What an awesome football game. I always stood by my Donovan and I just *knew* they'd win this game. Love the Giants but they had their glory last year and now I just reeally want the Eagles to win the Superbowl, let alone be in it.

Does anyone know if the BSG webepisodes are worth watching? I haven't seen them yet and usually them up but I do want to know more about what happened in the finale last year so anything about that?

[livejournal.com profile] deathisyourart writes about Beecher/Kellar here and talks about some of the reasons why I love them SO MUCH OMG. B/K is one of those couples that never leave you and just rest in your soul until you think about them and spontaneously burst into love for them.

[livejournal.com profile] clayangel did this AMAZING comic of the story of how Ryan and Colin met here. As someone who loves fic but loves a visual even more, this is everything I've always wanted to see and makes me SO HAPPY and it's just utterly adorable and romantic. God, they are so meant to be *sighs happily* Everyone should check it out!

It makes going through my iTunes library and rating everything SO worth it when I can listen to my four star playlist and love everything in it. Mmmm music. I will say my biggest disappointment so far has been Kanye West's new album. I only liked one or two of the songs and I feel like he took all the *soul* out of the songs that I loved on his previous albums. I mean, nothing ever compared to The College Dropout which is still on my top five album list but there was always a few songs I LOVED and most songs I enjoyed. I was giving songs ones and twos! I almost never do that so it was sad. Couldn't get into Fleet Foxes either and I don't get why they're so loved but I care much more about my favorite rather than the best in music so I don't mind. I am however loving Bitter:Sweet's The Mating Game, Artic Monkey's Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, Amanda Jenssen's Killing My Darlings, Aimee Mann's Lost in Space, Flobot's Fight With Tools, The Kill's Midnight Boom, Matt Pond PA's Several Arrows Later and Last Light, OK Go's self-titled and Oh No and Spoon's Kill The Moonlight.

If Youtube takes down your youtube vids: Fight it!. Check the comments for more. Also, how to beat the audio finding system here.

TV's back! I loved the new Brothers & Sisters (x2), Gossip Girl, Scrubs, Ugly Betty (the best imo, loved it soo much) and Greys. Also caught up on SGA and saw the finale which was alright but the best part was that it and Vegas convinced me to read some John/Rodney fic and it was gooood. My favorite was A Place On The Corner which is the cutest thing ever and is just my Rodney perfectly and why I love him. I laughed so many times and it's all just a perfect love story. I still can't believe it's over...thank god for fandom.

Sorry for the delay with this but life's been really crazy and busy for me lately and I'm a bit overwhelmed. As promised here are my notes, the things I can remember and pictures from Stiles and Proops 7/17 and 7/18 in Montreal. I tried to keep note of all the slashy things, personal stuff and/or info that could be useful in fanfic. I can't transcribe some of it very well so sorry about that (Clay and Odo, any help here?). Everytime I see them I can't believe that this actually happened. It was a chance of a lifetime to finally see them together after they've been apart for so long save a few other times. I still would love to see them do a live improv show together but after that show, I firmly believe it'll happen someday. They STILL have a strong connection, they're still good friends, they're still really slashy and I still can't help but love them deeply. Ryan/Colin <3

[Current Music |Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog]

So I arrived in Montreal yesterday and I like it a lot! It's very pretty and I like all the old buildings. The coolest part is everything is in French! I know none of it except the easily translatable things but I've never been in a place where English isn't the first language (some parts of SoCal were very Spanish but not this much) so I'm enjoying the different aspect of it. Just going to the grocery store today was fun or seeing ads in different languages not to mention road signs.

I saw Stiles and Proops Unplanned last night and it was HILARIOUS. Probably the funniest show I've ever seen and I could not stop laughing. Ryan and Greg are both so naturally funny, it's wonderful. I love the personal feel of it, they just sit on the couch and talk and involve the audience in very funny ways. It was also the most textually slashy show I've ever seen. Wow. Not as much touching without the games (but there was a little!) but they shared a lot of personal stuff which was awesome. I took notes of the good parts so I'll share that later. But Ryan did mention Colin twice, once by saying that he saw him yesterday which made me super happy of course and then when Ryan was saying he'd go gay (he said this a lot in various ways), he mentioned Colin and I was like !!!! *flail* Don't have the exact quote but it was nice. We ([livejournal.com profile] clayangel, [livejournal.com profile] iamcrazyodo and me) talked with them after the show and they were (as usual) really nice and we got some pictures and asked them a few questions. I'm just hoping that Colin might show up tomorrow and make all my dreams come true because if he came Saturday, I'd be so devastatede to miss it (it sold out unfortunately).

In a coincidential fashion, check out some organized links to Whose Line youtube clips!

Unless you've been living under a rock, you know about Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Joss Whedon's three act musical airing this week. OMG it is the most awesome thing that ever did awesome. Neil Patrick Harris! Nathan Fillion! Singing! I am in love. I missed his humor and the utterly gorgeous songs. I prefer the OMWF ones a little more since there's more background but I still listen to them over and over again. Mostly it's just lots and lots of squee. Act 3 is up tonight at 12 AM EST and I can't wait to see it!

[Current Music |"Not With You" by Tegan and Sara]

I reeeeally miss LA. Just saying if it's not obvious. It's been annoyingly humid here and although I prefer it over cold, nothing beats the dry heat of LA. So much better to be hot there and with the dry heat, it feels good and totally bearable even in the 90's. At least for me. I did go swimming the other day which I haven't done since...last January maybe? In LA of course. I did unexpectedly meet some friends there which was nice.

Also going to Montreal with [livejournal.com profile] clayangel in July to see some Ryan and Greg shows and I can't wait! Never been there before so it'll be good to expand my Canadian horizons.

Okay, now TV. Kind of behind on TV watching with two episodes of Doctor Who to watch and one BSG but both shows are kind of meh to me now so ehh whatever. Hopefully will do them tomorrow though. Not much of a Stephen Moffet lover as it always seems like there is too much random other characters and not enough character love of the ones I do love not to mention plots that I'm not very interested in (The Doctor Dances two parter was okay, plus JACK). So I'm not really that happy about the news he's running the show after RTD but I'm always willing to give him a chance so we'll see what happens. I still have lots of shows to catch up on from Farscape and The X-Files (the odds of finishing before VVC are now way down) to Prison Break and Smallville to Psych, Burn Notice and Mad Men. So little time, so much TV...

John Barrowman pictures of hotness. I am so, so disappointed that there's only going to be 5 episodes of Torchwood next year. I need my Jack fix! Plus, I need Jack and Ianto boykissing...*pouts*

Speaking of, does anyone know the best place to watch the gay parts of that German soap opera? I must see it! I checked out Luke and Noah and they were very cute but the soap opera stuff was too much for me at the time...I may see all of it later though. I am interested in Forbidden Love though.

BEST COMMERCIAL EVER: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGDFJPljXNw I just...god, it made me cry. As a huge flying fan, it made me want to fly again so badly and I strongly believe someday I will even if it's not the real thing. It's so cute and very, very touching.

If you've ever wanted to save a link for a later or save a post til say after you've seen a show or movie and do it quickly, try the Read It Later add on for Firefox (if you're still using Explorer...you should switch). All you have to do is right click a link or press a button you can add onto the top of your browser and you have it saved for later reading. It's helped me a lot with not forgetting certain posts and links when I don't have the time to read them or comment. I'm still kind of lazy sometimes and am gradually getting better at it.

I have a ticket to the tennis US Open finals! *squee* It'll be my first time going or ever seeing a match live so I really can't wait. Plus I am pretty sure that Federer is going to make it to the finals and tie Pete Sampras's record so I want to see history in the making. I would totally stalk him as I reeeally want to meet him but I'm just going to go for a day to save money so it's not worth the effort. I'm sure I'll meet him someday. The loss at the French Open broke my heart, I was really invested this time and it's always devastating when he can't quite pull it off. Oh underdogs, you kill me.

So I started watching The Biggest Loser on a whim a few days ago...and somehow developed a serious crush on the trainer, Jillian Michaels. I definitely have a type for tough, awesome, ass kicking woman especially dark haired women. The thing is while I think a lot of women are very pretty, I'm usually not very attracted except for a few and personality plays a big part in that. The short list (besides Jillian) is Lena Olin, Alexandra Hedison, Kate Moennig, Karina Lombard and Lena Headey (Katee/Starbuck in the miniseries is very close). But sometimes the stars align and they definitely do in this case. My love for her has grown exponentially while watching Season 5 (how much do I hate the game? FUCK THE GAME) and she pulls off the HARDCORE, yelling (and I love that she swears so great) trainer like no other and I loooove it and eat it up. She's got me so invested in her winning that I cheer ecstatically at the victories and cry at the losses (oh god one scene in S5 was SO heartbreaking it HURT...oh the woobieness). I love a good Jillian beating and nothing beats Jillian HUGS (they make me so happy!). She's so inspiring to me and a great role model which works for me so much as having people to look up to motivates me a lot. Team Jillian for LIFE. (Trainer love! ie where Jillian and Bob are cuteness)

Plus I love that she loves martial arts as one of my dreams is to be able to kick ass like all my girl heroes (and guys too) that I love from both my Sydneys (first Walker Texas Ranger, then Alias) to Buffy and all the other great warrior women (Zoe love!). I will definitely be making that happen at some point. If there's one thing I love about this season it was the awesome display of GIRL POWER. Just so amazing to be the underdogs and yet pull off some awesome, awesome wins. Because women CAN do anything and accomplish their dreams and do the impossible. Fucking A.

Also in one episode there was TIM GUNN. I literally screamed in the middle of the night, I was so excited. Talk about dream crossovers actually happening. There has not been enough Tim Gunn in my life lately. And I hope this puts the zaftig debacle to bed (TWSS...sorry force of habit). Also, July 16th is the Project Runway premiere, yay! Still the best reality show ever.

Picture of Jillian under the cut in the shirt I want SO MUCH IT HURTS (see subject line)  )

Never done this meme so I'm trying it: You give me three names in a fandom I know, I tell you whom I'd toss off a cliff, whom I'd shag, and whom I'd marry. Then (if you like) I give you three names, and so it goes.

Which is why I almost started crying two times when I realized this would be the second to last time I would experience a new episode of The Office on Thursday. I will not be watching anything at 9 on Thursdays in solidarity. THIS is why Steve Carell did not show up for work on Monday and Tuesday. Because he IS a writer and a damn good one.

So today I visited Universal, NBC Burbank, Walt Disney and Warner Brothers. Lots of strikers out there and LOTS of honking. There wasn't more than 20 seconds between honks most of the time and a lot of the time it was continuous. I gave my support to all of them I met. At NBC Burbank I talked to a writer from Bones and one from Eureka and they told me that The Office writers and cast are at Universal at Barham St. So that's where I will be next week ;) No, I'll probably be at other places but I do hope to picket with The Office writers sometime if I can. At Walt Disney, a striker invited me to join in so I took a sign and got to it! It was lots of fun and great to feel a part of it. The funniest part was the guy singing the WGA strike protest song sung to YMCA. Sooo awesome. Lots of honking and I got to talk to the writers a lot more. I told them about all the fans supporting them, about the website and LJ and they were happy to hear it and invited all the fans to come join them.

Also, a website supporting Office writers and organizing efforts to support them: Office Fans For Office Writers. Go help!

Oh and finally: PICTURES! All under the cut. I have Colin and Brad from last April, older California pictures, pictures of me and The Office cast from the convention, the real Dunder-Mifflin and strikers and studios. Enjoy:

Pictures under the cut )

Oh and because Jenna Fischer is awesome: I LOVE FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS! I'm not sure I can say it enough. And boy...Riggins. Riggins! The tortured soul! The bedroom eyes! Jesus! Let's end the strike for Riggins!" Word. Also, for The Office because I need some new episodes desperately.

Tomorrow's Fox picketing should be HUGE! I'll be there supporting everyone!

So tomorrow morning, I am flying to California to live. I can't believe it's finally here and I get to go back home tomorrow :) I have a place and will be looking for a job while I'm there. I am really looking forward to it and to seeing all my favorite places and visiting new ones. Plus I'm leaving 40s weather for 70s. Mmmm sunshine and warmth. I've missed it so much.

In honor of this event, my list of my top ten memories of my last year in California:

California Top Ten )

All in all, it was an absolutely amazing year in the place I love the most. I can't believe I'm going back again! Hopefully it'll be filled with even more great new memories. I'm kind of scared striking out on my own but I really want the independence that comes with it so I'm mostly just excited.

California, YAY!

First Happy Belated Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] norwich36, [livejournal.com profile] makesmewannadie, [livejournal.com profile] tamalinn and [livejournal.com profile] ficbyzee! I hope you all had great days and a wonderful year to come.

So today was my movie catch up day. I've been feeling kind of meh about movies lately as TV shows better suit me. The best way I can explain it is it takes too long for me to get into movies and once I do, they're practically over. Whereas with TV, while it might take me a little while to get into a show, once I do I have a lot more of the show to fall in love with. But I do love when I see high quality movies which I've been doing lately except for Evan Almighty. But I was only seeing that for Steve and seeing all the Michaelisms and ultimate cuteness and squeeing over Steve made it all worth it. I don't think the movie is as bad as the critics say it is, it was fun and cool to see on the big screen and I did love the animals and laughed enough to make it a comedy movie for me. And I didn't think the religion was too much so it worked for me. The other night I saw Little Miss Sunshine again which has become my third favorite movie (behind Serenity and Brokeback Mountain). For me it's the perfect comfort movie; whenever I'm feeling particularly emotional I watch it and it makes me feel better about life and just happy with the universe. I would actually love to see a good vid to it one of these days.

So today I saw three amazing movies. The first was a classic, Casablanca which I have never seen and which needed to be remedied stat. I really enjoyed it, took me awhile to get into as usual but the narrative was absolutely wonderful. And the end made me ever so happy with the two guys walking into the sunset...mmm slash. Then I watched Memento which blew my mind with how cool it was, how interesting and unique it was in terms of narrative. Lots of Matrix people which always helps too.

And I finally saw Dead Poet's Society which...WOW. Now I know why everyone was crying over Lullaby at Vividcon. First the movie broke me and then that vid did multiple times. I had seen half of the movie last August but again had a hard time getting into it. This time it was much easier especially with seeing kid!Wilson who completely won me over with his enthusiasm and adorable relationship with Todd. To anyone who hasn't seen the movie, I HIGHLY recommend it. It really teaches you to make something out of your life, to be a non-conformist no matter the cost, no BECAUSE of the cost and it's really a great story for any person who has ever been a student or teacher (I assume that's everyone. It rocketed up to number four on my favorite list of movies and I think it shares some similarities with Little Miss Sunshine with them both being about people pursuing their dreams no matter what society thinks and especially with the amazingly well acted heartwrenching scenes of Dwayne and Todd. So go watch it!

Links:
Life As We Know It - Second City - Ryan Stiles AND Steve Carell together in their younger days makes me ridiculously happy. They're so cute!
Unaired Colin kisses Ryan sketch on Whose Line - I may have died in happiness watching this clip over and over when I first saw it. What makes it even better than the first purely Colin initiated kiss is the "worked together for 20 years" and "Oh who am I kidding" right before it. Just so awesome and it fills my romantic heart with glee.

Everyone's been posting a ton about Doctor Who but I'm finding it still hard to get into the show in the second current season. My problem with it is it's all stand alones and I only like the Docter and Rose so it's hard for me to get into watching it. I will by Vividcon though. Oh and I changed my page layout a bit mostly to use a new Office header which has some of my favorite Dundies scenes in it. Still my favorite Office episode, of course.

[Current Mood |awake]

So I was having kind of a crappy day yesterday with the raining reflecting my mood. I was just tired, sick of school, dealing with issues with friends and not feeling that good about myself. On days like that I just wish something good would happen to me. And it did! I got a surprise package in the mail of all 7 seasons of Buffy (the collectors edition) which I had ordered from Amazon (a few hours before they sold out thankfully) with that special $100 deal they had which I wasn't expecting til next week. So now I am so happy to have so many wonderful episodes on DVD in my possession. I can vid them at anytime now too :) I've been planning to go back and rewatch S2-3 but I've decided to go back and watch the entire series along with the extras. Slowly this time, not in a month or so. I saw the pilot yesterday and it was just so cute. They're all so cute when they were young! And I remembered why I love Willow *hearts them all* It's funny how I remember clips from being in Scooby Road and other videos.

I've been rewatching some Whose Line episodes and it's making me fall in love with Ryan and Colin all over again. Especially Greatest Hits. I love how connected they are in that game, how well they work as a team, how they imitate each other and yet play off one another, the adoring looks they give each other, the banter, the happiness from just being with each other and of course I can't forget the beautiful dancing scene the game led to. Meant to be indeed. I have this perfect romantic song I listen to and that makes me feel so overwhelmed with love for them everytime I hear it.

People who reference The Office make me so happy. First we have Ryan Stiles in his interview mentioning Steve Carell and The Office Interview quotes under the cut ) So did Steve Carell actually end up on a Whose Line? Because if he did, I must see it immediatly. It's so awesome he worked with Ryan though, although I knew they were all in Second City, it's so cool they actually worked together. And referencing Michael trying to do improv was perfect. Yay for fandoms colliding! Also Peter Casey who co-created and help wrote Frasier was talking at my school last Monday and he said the only show he was watching was The Office and that he loved it. So that made me happy.

The things about The Office that has never really happened to me before is that I want everyone to watch it. Unless you have a HUGE embarassment squick (and even then, trying out one S2/S3 episode would be nice), I believe that everyone should watch at least the first 7 episodes of S2 to give it a chance to see if they like it. Because it makes me sad that some people have not had the chance to fall in love with the show and the characters and everything about it. I mean, it used to be me! I could have had a year and a half of loving the show if I had known about it sooner. So I do try to tell people about the show, I'm going to be working on my family this summer and I let people borrow my precious DVDs just to get them to watch it. I will gladly do a lot of things for people if they would watch the show because I really believe it is that good. The quality of the show is so high and my love for the characters is so great that I want to support the show with everything I can.

Office thoughts, no spoilers )

Quick Supernatural Hollywood Babylon thoughts behind the cut )

The Office vid rec: My current favorite Jim/Pam vid is The Denial Twist. It makes the S3 angst not angsty in a really good way and the motion and fast cutting in it is absolutely amazing. I think the denial in both Jim and Pam is a big part of their relationship so the song choice really works for me. Highly recommended.

OMGOMGOMG (/Kelly) I HUGGED RYAN STILES!!! Eeee it was awesome. I knew it would make my night so after the show, I asked him if I could have a hug. And he said yes and I hugged him *squee* I told him he was my favorite too. He is just the nicest guy ever, willing to do anything for fans. My love for him has grown even more if that's possible. I hugged Ryan!! *sighs happily*

And there was a Ryan/Colin moment on the show!! In my mind anyway. They were playing Jeopardy and Ryan said he was Gordon Lightfoot from Canada. And I was like *squee* like Colin! And then he said he was the third most famous Canadian. After Celine Dion (crowd silence) and COLIN MOCHRIE. OMG SQUEE. The whole crowd cheered at that while I was just SO ridiculously happy. Then Ryan said he'd of thought the first would get more applause or something like that. I am so glad Ryan found a way to bring Colin into the show. He always remembers him! They are so freaking cute.

The show itself was hilarious of course and all of them were so smart and awesome at all the games. Incredibly slashy throughout (of course) with lots of touching and laying on top of each other (especially Jeff and Chip) and very suggestive body suggestions (its amazing what "porn" suggestions can do). They also played Greatest Hits again and it made me love the game all the more although I miss Colin doing it with Ryan. They just have this chemistry together that makes it perfect that it lacks with anyone else. Ryan and Colin just HAVE to do a show together sometime soon.

The moment that pretty much summed up the trip was after the show when someone told Jeff something about them ripping their shirts off and laying on top of each other and he said that's what they do after the show on the bus. It's canon, thank you very much.

It's been a great few days and so much had happened that I don't know where to begin. First off yesterday I went to Universal Studios with [livejournal.com profile] clayangel, [livejournal.com profile] indybaggins and [livejournal.com profile] blackstray and had an awesome time. Since Universal produces The Office, I counted all the Office stuff I could find.

1) I was greeted by a speaker doing a promo about the true love that is Dwight/Angela with awesome soundbites like the "my animal deserves a lot of loving" TH. So my Office squee started in full gear.
2) An Office poster on the way to the Citywalk! Steve, Rainn, John, Jenna and BJ look so hot in their suits.
3) On the big screen TV in the amusement park, they played an Office promo! With lots of good moments including Pam falling off her chair in the Dundies and some funny Michael quotes.
4) On the Studio Tour they mentioned that The Office films some stuff here although obviously not the main office building. They also said Steve had shot some Evan Almighty scenes there.
5) There was a huge Office poster on one of the studio buildings. It looked great!

How I love my show. Although I couldn't see it live last night, I made it my mission to watch it and managed to download it after 3 tries that took 3 hours. But it was so worth it! I had low expectations for the episode but the episode made me love my show SO MUCH in that it can be amazing in any scenario. It knows what the show is all about whether it be Michael (can I possibly love him anymore?) or the whole office having fun together. Also I laughed a lot, it had great lines and a little bit of M/Jness. Although I still hate that there's a rerun next week (UGH), I'm really looking for all of the future episodes especially the finale which should be amazing.

In Whose Line news, I met Ryan Stiles!!! And Jeff, Chip and Greg but still RYAN. I saw him when he first got out of the bus at Cal Poly and then I saw the show which was hilarious and sooo slashy. They're all just the best. But after I got to meet Ryan and I got a picture with him and Greg :D He was so nice to me and everyone and yes, so tall. We also got to talk to Ryan's manager so I asked her if Ryan was going to do a show with Colin anytime soon. The exact quotes are fuzzy in my mind but she said that Colin and Ryan are genius together and that they don't have anything scheduled but it was possible. This should all be transcribed later because I'm drawing a blank. But it definitely sounded positive that it would happen sometime. Later I got to talk to Ryan again and told him I loved Whose Line and it always made me laugh and then asked him the same Colin question. He said Colin was doing his own thing with Brad so it was hard for them to do anything together. I'm forgetting what else right now, sorry the squee has overwhelmed my brain. But he did say that him and Colin meet up once every year so at least there's that. It was just so awesome to be able to meet him and talk to him and I'm still in a state of WOW.

Oh and I told Chip I loved him on The Office (as Josh aka King of the Stupid Universe/Poor Man's Michael Scott). I love it when two fandoms collide.

Also, I LOVE California. No matter where I go, it's always beautiful. Drivin up north, the scenery is gorgeous all over the place. Plus the temperature is perfect with sunshine and 70s/high 60s. Still puts a smile on my face :)

So [livejournal.com profile] obsessive24 has been talking about doing a Brian/Justin vid for awhile now and I've been dying to see what she would do with it. She finally posted it and it is AMAZING! Absolutely stunning use of color and motion not to mention a heartbreakingly perfect portrayl of the B/J relationship and Brian's psyche. So go download here!

Thank god for Spring Break :D

1. First on Friday I met Colin and Brad, waited outside the stage door with some other fans and they came out and I got both their autographs, a picture with both of them (will post it online soon) and I talked briefly to both of them saying I loved Whose Line and their performances. Extra bonus I talked with Colin (*squee*) and asked him if he was going to perform with Ryan again anytime soon. He said Ryan was in semi-professional retirement to which I said he was performing with Greg, Jeff and Chip. He said he was mostly in the Northwest and since he hated flying (my reply: I know) that it was hard. But he did say maybe. So take that as you will.

2. I'm now in Minneapolis and after a rocky start, things are going well. I saw the Mall of America which is HUGE and sooo cool to have roller coasters in it. Best idea ever. Also it was great to see [livejournal.com profile] jackiekjono and [livejournal.com profile] lapillus again, both who are super nice and awesome. Currently I'm with [livejournal.com profile] heresluck who basically wins at life for being so generous and amazing. It's great spending time with fans :)

3. Only three more days until The Office! I an seriously dyng for new episodes here.

OMG I met Greg Proops, Wayne Brady and Drew Carey!!! I went to Largo in LA tonight for the Greg Proops Chat Show with a friend and it was so AWESOME. I was just expecting Greg and Wayne but then they introduce Abigail Breslin (as a joke) and it's actually Drew Carey and they did a whole interview as he pretended to be her. It was all SO funny though and Wayne sang a song and it was slashy and fun. But THEN after the show, I got the guts to go up to Drew and Wayne and shook their hand and told them how much I love Whose Line. And then they PUT THEIR ARMS AROUND ME and I got a picture with both of them :D :D Next I went over to Greg and told him it was an awesome show and that I loved Whose Line and got a picture of him with his arm around me too *dies from happy memories* I told him I was really looking forward to his show with Ryan, Jeff and Chip in April. He said he was happy that a Whose Line fan was there as it was kind of a Whose Line show. I also met Jai from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy which was cool. Anyways, it was an absolutely amazing night, I'm so happy now and can't believe how lucky I am to live in near a city where I can meet people I've always loved on TV. *squee*

OMG I love The Office! I was merely enjoying it yesterday and now it has blown into fullblown, addicted completely must watch every episode, love every character and relationship and makes me LMAO ALL the time, full fannish glee. I am so amazed by it, the acting, writing and cinematography (the camera is a character!) is all so well done. It's almost equal to Arrested Development in its brilliance. Maybe it is, I have to go back and watch AD to compare. But anyway, wow. I have never laughed so hard in my life for some of these moments and it does it in such a unique way. I love how the show mixes both the outrageous and normal, the cruel and the kind, the happy and the heartbreaking.

And yeah, I love Michael. I know he's horrible and can be such an idiot and say the worst things...but I can't help but adore him. He tries so hard, it's so obvious how desperate he is for others to like him, to be his friend and yet he has no idea how to go about it which further isolates him. It kills me, it really does. But then he does the cutest things with kids or with trying to defend his office family, I love it. Steve Carell is made of awesome; I saw him in Little Miss Sunshine again today (LOVE!) and he was amazing. But anyways, his relationship with Dwight is particularly hilarious (they both have that neediness to them that so works with them) and I have grown to love Dwight more than I ever thought I would. His geekiness is too cute. Speaking of cute, Jim and Pam are made of it and too adorable. I wouldn't say I ship them but I certainly like them together. I love them both, but Roy and Katie were the worst choices of boyfriend/girlfriend that I have ever seen. Especially Roy, I can't understand sticking with a guy who would treat you like that. But anyway, I adore all the secondary characters too and I absolutely love the family moments between them even with all their issues with each other. And I have this strange attraction to Michael/Jan but more in a push/pull "I can't believe I'm doing this" kind of way.

Seriously, so much LOVE for this show. I've marathoned the entire S2 from 204 today and just saw 301 which was made of awesome and OMG so funny. I am dying to see more but sadly reached my sendspace limit and bittorrent is not working. Argh. I totally rec this show to everyone though and if by chance you know of any good vids to it, link me up.

In other news, I'm officially going to see Greg Proops and Wayne Brady in Largo (in LA- *loves CA*) on January 24th. Can't wait! Now I will have seen all of the main Whose Line members in a span of three months. Niice. Which btw, Whose Line was mentioned on The Office! Michael said he learned all his improv skills from the best, "Drew Carey and Ryan Stiles". Now the first, while wrong, works for Michael but I was all happy with the Ryan mention. And as an added bonus, Chip Esten was in two episodes. That was awesome. Oh and there was even a Queer as Folk mention..."Queer as Fuck". Hahaha.,

Beach trip, coping mechanisms, Queer as Folk, Whose Line and why I vid versus fic [Jan. 16th, 2007|02:20 pm]

[Current Mood |contemplative]

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] laurashapiro and [livejournal.com profile] ringwrench! I hope you both have wonderful days full of joy, fannish goodies and cake :)

Last Tuesday I celebrated the last 80 degrees day here by going down to Long Beach for the first time. It was really nice, I loved the marina and the downtown area was great. Plus I went swimming even though the water was freezing since I've never gotten the chance to do so in the ocean in January. It was a very Veronica Mars moment. Even with the recent cold front which hasn't been that bad considering I can handle 60's and tolerate 50s. Still loving that I have tons of free time and can do whatever I want with it. Also a book rec, Rainbow Boys by Alex Sanchez. I randomly started reading it in a library in Buffalo after using the internet because it had three cute boys on the cover and I figured I might as well slash them. Turns out I didn't need to (which is easily seen by the title but I didn't notice that) and it was a very good book about three gay teens trying to deal with their lives. I had a lot of fun finding parallels to Queer as Folk as there are a bunch of them. There's Nelson, a combination of Emmett and Michael with the PFLAG mom and crush on his best friend, Kyle. Kyle's a much toned down version of Justin with the coming out issues who has a crush on Jason who is not Brian (sadly) but more like a good version of Chris Hobbes (although his family has some Brian issues). It's a fun read, I really enjoyed it.

New Coping Mechanisms:

Get fully invested in watching the entire Chargers game only to see them lose heartbreakingly so...watch Whose Line. (No more football for me)
Feel down or bored or angry (most recently at a Smallville promo that made me want to throw up...one word: Clana)...watch Whose Line.

Replacing Whose Line with The Office or Gilmore Girls works well to. Laughing really does help a lot. I am loving The Office with Michael just being hilarious with his horrible social skills and bad jokes. Best comedy I've seen since Arrested Development and I love the camera work. Supernatural and Grey's Anatomy are still awesome on Thursday nights, I don't really have much to say that hasn't been already said.

On a Queer as Folk note, my personal awards as I go through the episodes in future vid work:

My favorites under the cut )

More reasons Colin Mochrie is made of awesome: not only are three of his favorite TV shows Buffy, Angel and Firefly (can't get much better than that), his favorites are: The musical episode and "Hush" are my favorite Buffy's. The Angel episode where he turns into a Muppet is fun and all of the Firefly episodes. I would have loved to have been a funny vampire on Buffy. Yay for the musical and all of Firefly, of course :)

Whose Line ramblings under the cut )

Oh and I wrote some fic! Whose Line, Ryan/Colin. I've written some other fics at times but have never finished or published any online. It reminded me though why I stick with vids love is to see is the Colin and Ryan show, all improv between them ALL the time. It'd be pure heaven, loads of slash I'm sure and too funny. I really think they are the best at improv in terms of laughabiliand not fic. For one, I'm just not that interested in writing fic as I don't get a lot of ideas and don't find it really enjoyable. It's nice once in awhile though. My biggest problem, especially with fanfic, is that I find it really hard to write the characters. I always feel like the characters when I write them are one dimensional and almost always OOC. I feel I put too much of myself into fics and it doesn't come out as the unique characters. I also find it hard to express what I see in my head and that really, really frustrates me, being a perfectionist. I read so many other amazing fics and I would love to write like them but realistically, it's just not going to happen. And I know practice makes perfect and all that but I'm not all that interested in doing so. I hate taking an idea that I love so much and writing it and then feeling like it's crap and I did what I imagined an injustice. I'd much rather spend my time vidding, trying to be the best vidder I can be and making vids that I enjoy and am proud of and can parse reasonably well how good they are and ways to get better. I'm much more of an idea person anyways, I like making connections and drawing parallels and juxtapositions in the text instead of making up new things. Which I do enjoy but usually more in a imagination sense, another reason why I enjoy reading fic so much more than writing.

The thing is, I get into a show when I love the source. For all my fandoms, I love the characters and the relationships and the storylines and I want to show why I love it so much. That's why I love vidding so much, to visually show why I love it and usually the specific parts I really enjoy. A lot of times my favorite ideas and vids to watch are explorations of a character through a relationship since that's one of my favorite things about shows. My favorite fics are often the same thing and the more interesting takes on characters and meta on the show are usually where my interest lies. But a key difference in why I read fic is because I want to see something that was never shown on screen and often not possible to show. That's why I most read slash when I read fic, because I see a lot of het onscreen (and in RL) that I don't need to see as much of it unless a pairing really grabs me and leaves me wanting more.

This is why even though I LOVE Brian/Justin from Queer as Folk, I barely read any fic for them because I don't feel a need to. I got so much of what I wanted onscreen, so much romance and love portrayed in so many ways that I don't really need the fic. But because I got so much onscreen, it makes me want to vid it a LOT because there's so much to show especially in terms of the ever interesting Brian Kinney. Contrast that with Whose Line which, because of the nature of the show, gets almost no dramatic storylines at all which I love. So I'm shipping a slash pairing that I see so many of the classic romantic, sexual, friendship signs from, even getting kisses along the way, but yet I never see any classic plots. It leaves me always wanting more, of the ship and of the *real* story of them, the dramatics and angst and romance. Everything. And because it doesn't look like there'll ever be a happy ending (for what I want), my need will never be satisfied which always drives me wanting more fic of any kind. It's a much harder show to vid for that very same reason, so many of the things I wish I could vid happened offscreen so I must make do with what I have and through fic.

In conclusion, Dean yay, vidding! (I swear I'll have a new one out this week),

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] way2busymom! I'll be forever thankful for you getting [livejournal.com profile] sockkpuppett into Supernatural :)

I love the internet SO much. So much that I paid for all day internet access here at LAX. I made a mistake in times so I have a few hours to kill before I leave to go back to NY. So I will enjoy watching/listening to vids, checking my Flist and surfing aimlessly, yay! Have I mentioned that I am sooo happy that finals are over and that I finally have a break to do whatever I want? I've been dyying to vid and now I finally have the time. It's beyond awesome. And a couple weeks ago I splurged and bought a new hard drive, two in fact since it was such a good deal. So now I have 750 GB not counting my 400 GB with laptop and other external hard drive combined. It's like paradise now that I can vid so many fandoms at once. Also, thanks so everyone who left such awesome gifts in my stocking. I would looove to have them all.

I am ridiculously happy now upon finding out that Ryan Stiles is coming to California! To do improv with Greg, Jeff and Chip although sadly not Colin but I will still go out and see him anyway. And its amazing to have so many Whose Line fans coming out with me from Clay, Indy, Sue, Lyndsey and even more all coming out to CA-it's just like our own mini WL con. I'm going to at least the Ventura one, maybe the San Luis Obispo one and heading up north for the Carmel and Santa Cruz ones (April 11-14 respectively). I cannot wait! Should be lots and lots of fun and awesome to finally get to meet people.

Wow, this is so amazing. Uncensored yay! I hate those stupid censors because half the never time, I can never figure out what they were saying and that ruins the fun. And outtakes!! There had better be some good Colin and Ryan parts but I'm sure it'll be awesome. I seriously cannot WAIT to buy this dvd. I can finally have good source to make vids out of and enjoy the show on my tv and its all just too good. OMG dvd *squee*

Okay, now I'll go back to trying to catch up on LJ. This is why I don't go without internet access for so long. It truly is torture and I miss all the best news.

ETA: Also, I really missed all my internet friends *hugs* It's so great to read all your posts. I'm halfway through reading/commenting through all of them but I'm dead tired now so I'm going to go to sleep and finish it tomorrow.

So I've spent hours and hours, practically all day yesterday, trying to get my hundreds of Whose Line episodes into Adobe Premiere but it looks like I've failed. Since they're encoded with xvid for the most part, I have to use avisynth to get them in there and tons of avs files, as it turns out, is almost guarenteed to crash Premiere everytime no matter how low I set the memory max to. First it took me forever to label all the episodes (multiple times for changes) and THEN I figured out there was easier ways to do that (thanks avisynth.org for the batch file naming and avisynthesizer for the templates). I tried putting multiple episodes together in one avs but there were different framerates/formats that prevented me from doing that half of the time. And the ones I did get it working in, when I tried to import them into Premiere, it still crashed it and ffdshow (which I use to render the files in Premiere) kept making multiple appearances in my quick launch bar as well and so now I just don't see any solution. I've searched the internet for hours and asked for help and that's not getting me anywhere so I'm done with that. My problem solving skills always run out when I don't see any more steps I can take and it looks like there are just too many episodes of WL to use Premiere with. If only I had the dvds...I wish they would just come out already! Sometimes I really hate technology...but at least I've learned more about it from this whole ordeal.

So I'm going back to using Windows Movie Maker which is working now that I've disabled ffdshow from the codecs to use. Haven't used it for a loong time but its a good program for doing some basic vidding and from my past experiences I know how to work it pretty well and even can kind of vid nonlinearly on it. I'll just be happy to vid again and vid my Whose Line ideas which I reeeally want to do. Vidding always helps me release some of my obsession.

Also, I'm once again behind on comments. Damn me and my I don't feel like writing excuses.

Worst Dream Ever [Jun. 21st, 2006|11:20 am]

[Current Mood |sad]

So why I am awake a few hours earlier than I planned? I had a really bad dream for the first time in a long time. And when I say bad, I mean by fandom standards but still...it broke me. The first part was unrealistic (as many dreams are) as I was sitting in my middle school cafeteria talking to my two friends across for me as well as Ryan (!) from Whose Line to the right of me. And we were having a good time talking, about the entertainment business and I was talking about how I usually just like characters from shows and ignore the actors but in his case it's different (which is true). And we were actually getting to know each other and having fun which makes you and me think this is actually an excellent dream.

Then it gets even more surreal as there's this animal tank with kittens and iguana's and maybe even fish, I don't remember, but it was big. But apparently Colin was in there, as an animal I guess, don't look at me, I don't make these things up. And then there was this heart monitor and all of a sudden it started beeping and me and Ryan got all scared. There was some commotion (don't remember exactly) but then it was fine again. But then it happened again and kept getting worse and we couldn't find Colin in there which led to total freaking out on Ryan's part who was looking all through the tank and at the different animals (because we couldn't find Colin in there). And then it started that death sound and Ryan was pleading and begging no and then he said "Please don't die Colin, I'll be with you, I'll be with you, just don't die" in this heartwrenching voice that just broke me. And I could tell he met that he'd leave his family and everything behind for their love...that's the part I remember most and it just completely broke me. And then he actually died and I couldn't believe it and Ryan started just sobbing and then left and was in the cage hiding with the cats with no sound and you could tell he was just shocked in disbelief and couldn't feel anything.

So then that was bad enough but then I woke up in my grandma's house and went to the TV and it said Colin was dead again! I just about died on the spot and was in total disbelief and went and checked the newspapers and it said the same thing. I was shaking my head and couldn't believe it and just kept saying to my family that now I would never see them doing improv, that I was going to see so many of his shows and now I couldn't, that Ryan would be hurt, that all the fans would and that now I could never see the show without being in pain with his death. It was just horrible. Finally I woke up, for real this time and the emotion of it, the horribleness of it got and is still getting to me. I mean, he died twice, once is bad enough. It's the emotion effect that always affects me after dreams and this was just so real that it hurt me. Now I'm saying, please don't die Colin, I just couldn't handle it if you did. So I checked his website and read some of his questions and I'm still thanking god that he's not dead because that would be a nightmare come true for me. That line from Ryan still gets to me because you could hear the depth of sadness, of sacrificing everything in his voice *cry* And now I will go off in distraction for good, happy, slashy Ryan/Colin/Whose Line things.

Funniest clip ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXcAUgKlnbs&search=whose%20line%20irish Just get to the end, I seriously could not stop laughing. Colin is definitely the best at this game, hell the best ever. He is king. *loves*

Even though I'm just finishing the 7th season of the US version, I couldn't resist checking out the UK one. And wow, do the guys look different. It was weird seeing and hearing them so young. Seriously, I can not get over it. Especially Ryan with that voice and and...he's just so cute! I can tell they're still not quite confident as compared to the US series but its still pretty funny. And I won't deny they're even hotter young...what do you expect? Their personalities and little quirks definitely still stand out as them though. And Ryan and Colin are still sooo in love with each other from the beginning. Love seeing them do Helping Hands and all of the talking to each other after the game. Too cute. But I finally see what the Ryan/Greg shippers see as I finally notice something between those two, mostly when Colin's not around although I do see some triangle action going on there. It's fun to see even though the Ry/Col bond rises above everything for me.

Oh and I'm vidding again! :) Finally, it's been too long. I've got a song, I've got everything ripped and avs'ed (new word!) and I'm working on the climax of the song for my Brokeback vid. I need to work on the structure and get the lyrics figured out some more to really work on it but I think I'll actually be able to finish this one. Really. And I'm not forgetting about my two Whose Line vids (one funny/romantic and another sappy one) I have planned, I'll hopefully be finished with all the Ry/Col episodes in a week or so and then I can work on those simultaneously. And I actually have the free time to do this. I love summer. Also, everyone go watch [livejournal.com profile] rudelypinioned's Whose Line vid here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgMuZIrON9s It is nicely edited, too funny and full of love. Go watch it again if you've already seen it.

Oh and I've started Supernatural since half my friend's list is obsessed with it. I was originally turned off by the horror (I watched the first five minutes when it aired) and even now I'm not into it but I do like the mystery involved so I don't mind. It's easy not to mind because Dean (who always confused me since that was JP's name on Gilmore Girls) is super hot and sexy in this role (much better than on SV, thankfully). Love his personality, love the confidence and love his cuteness with Sam. Their relationship is great and I can see why all the slashers were squeeing, the wincest looks good to me. I've watched the first four episodes and enjoyed them so I'll keep watching.
